Send me a PM. Most of the shorty antennas that people have were made by me. I'll be doing some more soon.

They look alot better, but the reception is worse. I can only pick up strong local stations.

Everyone that has my antenna has claimed better than stock reception. Of course this is on Pro5's not 3's.

I am just looking at options right now.. I have had experience with changing them before and the reception decreased, so I was wondering..

Thats cool...Let me know if you want one. You can try it out if you want and send it back if it doesn't do waht you need it to do.

Every upgrade is better than stock....

I bought a Freedom Designs 4 Inch stubby (Billet Aluminum), but I bought it for looks, not for reception. Heck, the tuner section in the Mz3 head unit is not worth listening to IMO. This is why I always listen to CDs.

IMHO, you shouldn't worry about reception unless you have an aftermarket head unit, cuz you'll be playing CDs all the time with the factory setup.

Sorry if that doesn't make any sense, I just got back from the bar lol.

Let me clarify... The Factory tuner section isn't audiophile quality by any means, but the CD section is pretty close to it :)

I bought a xelderx billet antenna for my P5 and swapped it over to my 3 when the P5 got totalled in an accident. I haven't really noticed any signal degradation except on the really low signal stations... but then again, I primarily listen to CD's, not the radio.

I highly recommend a shorty ant. It gives the car a much cleaner look over the towering stock ant.

When I installed my shortie, the reception sucked. So I bought a hiding window antenna and now its great.
