short shifter or shifter bushings?

For those that have upgraded your MS6 shifter bushings, did it make a big difference in the shifter feel? Or is it better to skip this mod and just buy a new short shifter? Opinions?

Do both. TWM Stage 2 with shifter bushings is a great investment.

Since I want to keep the stock shifter height, is it worth upgrading to the stage 1? If I installed new bushings in my stock shifter, would I feel much of a difference?

Yep, if you want stock height, do Stage 1 with bushings. Stage 2 drops it about an inch, but the throw between 1 and 2 are exactly the same.

I have stage 2 w/ bushings. It is great! I still say it is the greatest mod i have ever done.

Same here man! I installed the stage 2 shifter and bushings plus a weighted knob and I love the feel of it! A lot more firm shifts it seems...

I have the TWM Stage1 and Bushings. I had/have the same feeling as you do. I wanted to keep the stock height. It works well for me.

I've got the JBarone shift plate with his shifter bushings, as well. The shift feel is soooo much better than what it was stock. I've not driven a TWM equipped car, but I would suggest to anyone the JBarone pieces since it seems to be the best bang for the buck.
