What up? Just wanted to tell you all the I installed my short ram intake yesterday afternoon and it was a breeze. Took under an hour I believe (wasn't really keeping check of the time). Boy, it looks nice under the hood and YES, I have the turkey. It freaked me out at first, then searched the topic on the forums and found it was the BOV. Anyway, just something to get used to I suppose. Let me know what you think about the intake.

jred321 is right. A heat shield along with proper placement (which you got right) will make sure that you are pulling nice cool air. Looks great!

would any of you guys/gals have pics. of a heat shield for the short ram intake?? I know that it would be a great benefit to have on the car, to get more cold air, I just want to see how it looks and possibly make one on mine own. If you could point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it! :cool:

Excuse me, I'm a noob.
why is it called a 'ram' air? Not just a 'Cone filter on a pipe'? Is "ram" the brand, etc? It's not a ram air by any device.

CAI= cold air intake
SRI= short ram intake

It's just a term we use. The only air that's "rammed" into an SRI is hot air from the radiator fan, in my P5 at least.

...don't get me wrong, funspeed. It looks great, and I'll bet it sounds mean too. Plus, I don't know s*** about MSPs. (uhm)

it's not ram, but people just call it that on ebay. it's easier to say than "filter on pipe," and most people that aren't really into performance have only heard of cold air intakes and ram air intakes, so they know that it's not cold air, so they say it must be ram air. just the way it is, correct or not. also, that's what the guy on ebay lists it as, so that's what people call it, however incorrect it is.

Hurm...I'll see if I can get the guy who made the Carbon Fibre Cowl Intakes for miatas, to make one for P5s. :)

That'd be neat. :D

What brand is that? Is it home made? Looks good! (thumb)

Looks Nice!!!
Is it worth the price break to go throught his ebay guy rather than injen or k&n ect. ect.? Does anyone else use this ebay setup? Any problems? I am looking for a CAI or "Ram" air want to know your opinions. Thanks in advance.

Ok...I got the intake through Ebay, cost me 120 (includes shipping/handling). The oil cap I got on Ebay as well. Got it two weeks ago for 30 (including s/h). Again, I am pleased with both products.

As for the term Short Ram Intake, yes, that is what the seller was referring it as, so I went with it. Maybe it is not the best term or most acurate term, but it works for me. If you do not like the term, don't use it!:D
