short intake ram

The MAF bolts to the box the filter is in with 2 bolts. The rubber snorkel coming from the motor hooks to one end of it. Remove that from the air filter box & use with the sri. Your throttle body & intake are somewhat different from the 2.0s but shouldn't be that much different to install. Use the bracket with the kit the hold the new intake in place. Just do it like any number of pics posted on the forum. Lots of small variations to choose from. Right hand drive, cool.

was "SRI" and the MAF and the box filter is 1 piece..the MAF itself is screwd down..an without that MAF the car wont start..i kno this fustrating guys buh im a real noob when it comes to engines i all about bling an music ..so am i putting back a MAF? an when i look at the pics i see like a lil black box rite before the filter on the pipeing

Oh, didn't know was one piece. How about using an MAF from a 1.8 or one of our cars if is seperate? Would the plug be different? Can the correct plug be spliced in? Would the readings or output to ecu be that much different? Anyone?............anyone?

o.k. how about this... did you already buy a SRI or a CAI ? or do you only have the aftermarket filter w/o the rest?

i didnt buy anything yet..i want to but i have seen guys on the forum in another area i dunno where where they did it on the 1.6..buh guys this seeming like rel trouble wa bout if i jus put in a drop in filter..

you'll get similar gains from a good panel filter (K&N). The stock intake tract is surprisingly efficient. You just won't get the 'suck' sound from an SRI.

Could you post 'detailed' pictures of the actual meter housing (AFM) and/or connector? It might be possible to use a USDM AFM or swap the actual sensor element from your car to a USDM housing.

EDIT: It looks like you have have the 1.6L ZM-DE engine as opposed to some 1.5L Z5 variant.

So the entire thing is one piece? (yellow circle)

You're sure there isn't a coupling here? (green circle)
