OK, so every single time I get out of my car and touch the door frame to close the door I get the s*** shocked out of me!!

Is the car not properly grounded? Does anybody else have this problem? Is there a fix for this? Its really starting to bug me lol.

That used to happen to me when I lived in Virginia...especially in winter, seldom in summer, never when it's humid.
I moved to Florida, and that *GAK* yell every time I got out and touched the window frame to shut the door has only happened once in 2 years here.
People around me in the parking lots probably thought I had Tourette's syndrome ,or something.I used to have a Mazda MX-3 that had a little rectangular spot on the inside of the door panel that said "to release static charge", or some nonsense. The car came like that from the factory.Weird.That static strap sounds like the trick.Hell of a lot cheaper than moving.

Winter-Only issue for me. I have learned to close the door by pushing on the window rather than the frame :)

My wife's car…'07 Honda Fit…shocks the crap out of me every time I get out of it. Always make sure to ground myself before I pump gas into it! My P5 does it sometimes, not often

LOL !! yeah, my truck does this in a dry winter..
i just take it as a lil shock therapy every now and then...hehe..

but as someone else said, i expect it, so i use my forearm to take the shock..seems to hurt less than fingers.

I find the shocks are caused by the motion of exiting the car. Butt rubbing against seat builds up some static electricity in my body. Touch metal door frame and get shocked. My solution was to hold on to the door frame as I am getting out of the car. I ground myself to the car and don't allow the static to build up. Problem solved. Never shocked again.

I usually just use the car key to make contact with the door to release the static charge first and then shut the door. It's cool to see that little beam of electricity :)

i just take the shock and dont whine about it :)

nah, it is kind of annoying though, but fun when my gf gets shocked and i get to hear her scream

happens to me a lot, I just started shutting the door near the door handle instead of near the window.

EVERY DAMNED TIME I GET OUT OF MINE. SO aggravating. I thought my car had a bad electrical circuit at first, then I just got smart.
