I usually shift at 3000-3500, I'll shift higher if i'm trying to pass someone or in a fast mood. I'm getting about 32 mpg or about 380 miles per tank...its mostly highway miles.

damn...that's the one reason I'm glad I don't have an MSP. I actually found gas for $2.67 for the regular stuff yesterday! I was like nuh-uh, that sign's busted lol.

Because the 1st to 2nd ratio difference is so large, I'll take it to 4k-4.5k in first then ~3k in the other gears.

I hate it when people ride my ass because the 1st-2st gears are spaced so far apart.

Prolly round 3500 for me on average. I never downshift. brakes are cheaper than clutches and transmissions. Knock on wood but I have never had to replace either in any car I've had for the last 10 years.

i shift around 2500-3000... when i get the need for speed.. then around 5000-6500

depends on what gear i'm leaving and which one i'm going into. I only rev 1st up to 2500 then 2nd is 3500 then 3 then back down to 2500 going into 5th when I'm liberally driving it. when I want speed I really only go up to 4500 or 5.

depends on what song id playing, usually i'll shift at 3500, when in a hurry at 5500

Yeah, I've gone over the redline a few times... You know how it is, trying to pass some douchebag in an automatic muscle car who doesn't want to let you over so you got to show him what's up. I certainly don't granny my car. I accelerate pretty quickly, and I shift at around 3k to 4k, typically, and the lowest mileage in town I've ever gotten (in winter) is 27. Now that things are warming up around here, I've been getting 30 in town. My proudest mileage moment was going to Kansas to visit my father who lives three hours away and getting 42 mpg highway.

I granny the hell out of it. I shift usually at 2500rpm in 1st-4th and mostly 2000rpm in 5th. I know but the mileage is worth it. I get around 27mpg city and I really haven't done much highway but from what I have its around 33mpg.

Hate to break this to ya buddy, but I shift at at least 4K most of the time and I constantly speed up and slow down, even on the interstate, and I get the exact same mileage as you. These cars are designed to be fun, so have some fun! Even if you lose 10 miles per tank, it'll be worth it.
