shifter vibration

hey guys... iam new to manual cars jus started and iam just wondering my shifter tends to vibrate alot past 3 rpm is that normal i know the P5 is a rev happy car and it has short gears but it seems a little to much, is this normal hoping i didnt damge anythign from my learning period.. maybe stalled it around 15 times over a period of 3 days??

It is perfectly normal...The shift linkage is a rod or "arm" system that litterly bolts the thing you grab in the interior of the car to the gearbox...Most newer cars use cable shift linkages that almost get rid of shifter vibration, but with a cost of horrid shift feel...The vibration is pretty minor for rod linked manual cars, but the shift engagement is probably the pest in the current economy car lineup in my opinion...
