The 5spd shifter in this thing is sloppy. Its not that i miss shifts, its very loose while in gear. I can move it side to side at least 4-5 inches. Also while cruising on the highway it vibrates and makes an anoying sound. If i put my hand on it it quiets right up. Anybody else have this problem and know of a fix. I check under the car and the linkage looks fine, maybe something i'm not seeing.

does it move 4-5 inches when in nuetral or in gear?! in nuetral mine does the same thing. and the shifter does move and vibrate alot-i havent noiced a noise though... i jus did my exhaust and i checked the shifter linkage and it seemed to be ok.

ohh... yea that is kinda sloppy...i dont know what would fix that, new bushings? or is it a gearbox problem? im not sure dude, but i hope someone on here can really help you out(shrug)

My cousins winter beater civic does this, the shift bushings are totally shot. If you are in gear and driving you can move the entire thing in a big circle, basically as to the edges of the trim piece around the shifter. It can make for some fun shifting if you aren't used to it.
