Sheetmetal Intake Manifold

but then you have a valve hanging down in your engine cay opening and closing!! how funny would that be!

not exactly, you would just have a small electrical solenoid, which you would cable tie to the fire wall, or something, it may open and close but you wouldn't notice =P

Weird, I emailed magnus a last week about producing a manifold and they never emailed me back. They make awesome manifolds, my friend has one on his gsx. How long do we have to get the money up?

if you keep the wiring harness plugged in, and just don't hook up the mechanical parts of the VTCS, you wont get any check engine lights with it not being there

That is correct, just hook up the solenoid and leave the rest of the crap off.

You know, I wonder about this kind of stuff sometimes.

I think that the FS-ZE intake manifold might be a better option. It would flatten out the torque curve a little longer on N/A and on turbo applications very nicely, and I think is priced in the same range as the one mentioned in this thread.

Throw in the FS-ZE intake cam and the Mazdaspeed exhaust cam and you would have a pretty nicely matched set up, that works well from the factory. It's all factory parts, and the cams aren't bad for F/I with the manifold. They were all designed to work with each other.

A few people even think the old 626 manifodl would be a better option, and that should be cheaper than both this custom one and the FS-ZE one.

interesting, i might look at a 626 manifold for a temporary fix to my im wanting needs.

However, I see a sheetmetal intake manifold making higher end power.

626 manifold is kinda nasty looking, but I found some pretty cheap on car-part

Yeah, I'm thinking the FS-ZE will be better then.

It'll flatten out the torque curve for a longer time and move it up a little.

Precision Motorsports is going to be making one for our cars. Here

This link may not work if you're not logged onto Probe Talk's web site. They're thinking between $400-$500, but the price may change.

Ill most likely be one of the first to try out the new intake manifold. If and when it goes into production I will post all my dyno plots as well as my personal opinions.

Sweet... How much longer do u think they will produce it?
I can see the FI guys being able to turn up the boost safely without having to worry about too much problems with spike. Reason being it'll flow a lot better than the stock one which is causing the air to stack up in the manifold
