i was wondering if anyone had any input on the Shakkito plate from Nagisa auto..

it employs the same concept used in rally cages. A bar coming from just behind the A pillar goes through the dash, through the firewall and onto the top of the shock tower.. its purpose is to reduce load on the shock towers during heavy braking, and also improves brake response.

i dont know about you guys, but im not really willing to have a $5000 cage built or cut through my dash for that matter.

it seems the same effect can be achieved with these:

any thoughts?

$5000 cage? Um...someone's taking you for a ride if they are gonna charge you $5k.

You can get an FIA and NHRA approved 10-point cage for under 2 grand. Hell, the Autopower 6-point cage for the FD is only like $750.

yea i agree. it was just off the top of my head because a rally team, i wont say who, tried to "recruit" my friend and charge him that much for a cage for his STi recently.

it was utterly unbelieveable.

i could see it being several grand for a FIA/Race spec cage installed in a car (with proper padding on the bars, and painting the bars) as well as the cost to install the cage and properly cut the carpet/dash/firewall, ect and seal the gaps and everything, so the cage looks OEM.....but even then I would think maybe 3k or so.
