Setting up surveillence?

I'm just particularly furious because I had NOTHING to do with the situation. I don't even KNOW that older woman that my friend's been fighting with, nevermind her grandchildren, so why in the hell would they drag me into the mess?

You MUST call the cops, get them to come out and take a statement/file a report, whatever they do when they're not running RADAR...

Get the cops to talk to the neighbors involved, especially the older one who's grandkids are likely involved (to ask them if they saw anything, at least). Older people usually have enough sense to avoid police entanglements. Make it clear that there will be further police involvement if there is any further Rush-involvement.

You may also want to talk to the neighbor yourself, let her know you're putting up cameras and ask politely that they leave you out of whatever bulls*** is going on, since it is none of your business.

Pretty much, as politely as you can, make as clear as possible that you will not put up with any more of this BS, and you will make life Hell for anyone involved if it continues.

If you're gonna buy a car cover, it would be better to dish out the dough and get a good one. I really recommend getting the one lined with fleece as well as weather proof. There is even one that has a steel cable sewn into the skirt of the cover with eye hooks at each end. when the cover is nice and snug under the fenders you can actually lock up the cover so it cannot be removed.

vandalism is just that, vandalism. You gotta get the pow-pow out there with some night sticks to pound the crap outta the kids and good 'ol g-ma.

Just by a cheap wired or wireless IP camera and set it to record the video to your computer when it detects motion. Usually about $100 for a decent one. This is assuming there is at least a little light where your car is parked. If there isn't you'll need to pony up for something with infrared lighting with the camera.

I just setup a camera on my shop outback, I am hooking it up inside this weekend, waiting on some RG59 cable with BNCs for the video, better quality than RCA cables. Mine goes straight to my shop pc, I have it on wireless right now and will be able to access it from work and watch the camera through remote desktop, cant wait. I dont trust anyone...

Camera I got, I only payed $130 for mine, price went up I guess. Its a very nice camera.

i think you should just cut open some extension cords.. and leave it in the path of your car.. and let the problem take care of itself

oh gawd...i'm sorry, but i have an uncontrollable urge to make omish cracks because of your location! (rlaugh) my roomie grew up in lancaster, so he tells me some interesting stories...(wink)

seriously, though, if your 2:30am visit didn't convince her to put a sock in it, it's time to call the cops.

get a Remington 870

-or-

i know of a system that you mount, relatively cheap, that records via computer, for however long, and has night vision. (know from experience that it works).

B and I haven't had too much time to discuss options, thanks to the fact that my schedule sucks (class, work, class, work, class work .. and maybe some occasional sleep thrown in there).

I was rather tempted to try upgrading to a sensitive car alarm .. But seeing as I park on campus, it'd probably be going off every five minutes. And that'd just be ridiculous.

So the next time we get a chance, B and I will prolly wind up hopping out to Radio Shack or Best Buy or poking around online to look for some cheap-o camera schtuff.

This is the first time we've had any problems, and I haven't heard a peep out of anybody since I went ballistic on the neighbor at 2:30am. And considering money is pretty tight for me .. I'm prolly just gonna keep an eye out and hope that they got the message, because I'd rather spend the money on Christmas presents than on the bad behavior of my neighbors.

don't have time to read entire thread. But I use Logitech Orb web cams, and a program called Active Web cam. Google it, it's free to try....actually it has yet to expire on me, and quite a good liitle program and supports mutiple web cams, or cams plugged into Video cards, firewire etc.
