the TV output for the old laptop was S-VIDEO, this one is HDMI. Marcs projector most likely doesn't have an HDMI input, I'll double check with him

I could probably "borrow" a projector from my place of employment if necessary.

Other option is a different laptop? Granted, I don't know what the file format is, etc...

it's just an AVI, install VLC player and we're set. Anybody else has a laptop with an S-VIDEO output (and a cable)?

the weather has been nice lately so it might be a good meet

I've confirmed with Marc that the projector doesn't have an HDMI input, I'll look for a laptop that works. Will, do the projectors at your work place have HDMI?

I have a DVI-HDMI adapter. I'm not sure if that's relevant. The technologies and the tireds do not mix well in my head.

that's what I have, we would need a DVI to S-VIDEO

My work computer could run it. It doesn't have an S-video, but it does have the standard projector connection.

whew! now that we've figured THAT out, we need to pick a date ... i'm ok with waiting until labor day weekend ... or we could look at the weather for next weekend ... just don't forget to bring the bug spray!

Any weekend nobody's wrenching on their car at the house is fine by me. We could do a Sunday evening even. Start at 8pm or something. And where? Are we still playing at Marc's? Is he still okay with that?

I'd prefer earlier rather than later as I work at 5:30 Monday mornings, but obviously it doesn't get dark until 8:30 or so, haha.

lets do it at my house on Sept 24th its a saturday, it will be cooler by then and should be getting dark around 7:30. I can spay yard guard to keep the bugs away and if it rains we can pull the cars out of the garage and show it indoors. if this day isn't good lets put up a poll and see what day would be good. it would need to be a saturday though, since I start working early on mondays.
