i'm thinking about selling out to f/i...which will do away with my pulley, injen cai, mp3 ecu, header, ignition coils and cams...

i just love the sound of a BOV...i don't have the money to do more n/a stuff to my car...my next parts would be pistons, rods, stand-alone, and full head...screw it...i suck, i know...but dammit, i wanna be faster!
 
unless you race your car, whats the point of making it that fast. i just want an extra 20-30 hp and id be happier.
 
can't the mp3 be n/a and the p5 turbo then you'll have one of each

well, the plan was for my p5 to be n/a and my wife's mp3 to be turbo...but i can't have her car being faster than mine!

Noooooo Topher, dont do it. Dont give up. Just keep saving up and buy one part at a time. N/A is the way to go. We need more people to stay N/A so we can find out what this engine is capable of. No one has stuck with it far enough to see.

well, it'll be a while (2-3 months) before i can afford a turbo...i'll have a dyno before then to see what i've got...just to let you guys know what my current set-up is good for.

becasue 20-30 hp on the stock NA is slowness by current standards. It's not asking that much to make 200whp in a 2,800lb pound car.

If you can afford it and want to do the work go for it topher.
 
honeslty as for that question its about how fast that person wants to go....i want go that fas but cant afford it, so ill be happy with the IHE bolt ons and cams for now and in a yr Ill be lookin at an evo or rx8, used, most likely.
 
Bah! Sellout. It's like doing steroids because you can't wait to get big naturally. Or lipo-suction to help lose weight instead of exercise. Ya, your car will be fast, but not as satisfying.

I drove a Mazdaspeed. Didn't feel much faster than my car, but it sucks ass shifting at 6500. When my car is screaming to 8500RPM and the sound..oh the sound.

This is all I need to remind me of why I want to stay NA. A Miata with Individual Throttle Bodies...lets see a turbo car sound like that.....

I feel ya.....i should be going turbo by the end of the year.

Got dibs on that UR Pulley when u decide to sell.....gimme a good price :D

Why sell the cams? i know they work against the turbo a bit, but not enough to get rid of them......im gonna leave mine in.

Unmodded the msp feels so inhibited. Unless you get the exhaust off the car it does flat out feel slow.

edit: gen1GT do you have pics of your car handy?
