Seeking CX-5 purchase advice

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to get some advice on the CX-5 2001 SKYACTIV-G GT Sport Auto 4WD, 40k mileage, FSH.

It will only be used for inner city driving / short trips.

Anything I should look out for before purchasing, and anything to expect in terms of potential faults or day to day running issues?

Thanks!

front suspension, valve cover gasket, belt tensioner, a/c leaks and serpentine belts are all that i could think of with these cars.

My 2015 has the mechanical parking brake which seizes due to corrosion and was fixed under recall. i have heard of some issues with the EPB's, don't know anything about that.

im on the original belt tensioner with nearly 350k km.

all in all, highly reliable, dependable and well made vehicles.

2016 - Zero issues (Purchased new in 2015)
2019 - Zero issues. (Purchased new in 2019)

Vehicles are super reliable, inexpensive maintenance. Make sure you get service records. At 40k should just be oil and various filter changes.

2001? Try again...
My bad 😂, yes as Jadmt says I meant to type year 2021.

typo as he said 2021 in another thread. make sure it has had proper oil changes and check car fax
Sorry what do u mean by car fax?

Sorry, were u referring to the 2001 or 2021? I see the ripple effect of my typo now!

Thanks all!

Search up car fax on google.

Bro. Cx-5 came out in 2013. So. Any 2013+ lol

Yes, I purchased it! Was a bit annoyed at myself for not noticing that the wing mirrors were not properly folding when unlocking/locking the car - after a quick Google search this appears to be a common issue - something to do with water ingress?? Had I known I would've negotiated a lower price!

Do you mean not folding at all or partially folding? The problem with the mirrors were on older models, my understanding is that Mazda fixed the problem by 2021.

If they're not folding at all the function may be turned off.
I turned mine off the day I took delivery of my 2019.
