Scratches on hood

ARGH not even a month old. I goto work this morning and notice that there are LARGE(like 2" tall) dog prints all over the hood of my car, WTF? This dog must've raced indy-style on my hood because there are prints EVERYWHERE, well the worst part : apparently this dog had big nails too - I've got some pretty decent scratches on the hood :( A few don't seem too deep, but there are a couple that might've gone all the way through the clear coat :(

Anyone have suggestions on what i shoudl do? Should I buy that ScratchX?

find the dog and kill it and save somebody else the pain and suffering you are dealing with. Then go to local body shop and ask how much for the guy in the shop wearing the full suit to drag hisself and the orbital out and apply some 3m products and elbow grease to the scratches....

DeanSweet, I'll probably do that, thanks. I wish I could find the dog - I know of no large ones in my neighborhood though. Dont know of any body shops in town, guess i'll look in the yellow pages.

Would it be safe to "wash" the hood since the paw prints are still there?

edit: also, how much would it cost about probably? THeres like 10 or so scratches. Im hoping not too much :(

I've never heard of a dog climbing on the hood of a car. You might get more results looking for a large cat. They love getting on the hood and roof of cars.

A cat won't leave scratches because they have retractable claws. The prints wouldn't be 2" long, either.

However, a dog that big should have dented the holy hell out of the hood. (scratch)

yah, thats what I thought, but everyone i've showed definately agrees they are dog prints, and a LARGE dog - i'm glad i dont have a dent. I'm rpobably gonna buy some scratchX tonight and see what that does :(
