Scratched Instrumentation Glass

Hello,

I thought I remembered something on this quite a while ago, but I did a search and couldn't find anything. I have a 2009 Mazda 5 and find that the instrumentation glass (plastic) scratches very easily. Has anyone found something that will first of all take the scratches out, and secondly prevent further scratches from happening when I'm cleaning.

Right now I use water and a very soft cloth to clean. Really should not scratch anything, but there are definitely scratches.

Thanks for any ideas you might have.

Meguiars makes a 3 step system for clear plastic restoration. I have had good luck using it on other clear plastic instrument panels. They have also worked for me on CD's, DVD's, and sunglasses.

Novus also makes a clear plastic polish that works good as well. With any of these, make sure you use a clean new microfiber cloth with the tags removed.

I used Meguiars PlastX on my other car's headlights with acceptable results. Though I had to do a full restoration of those 10 y.o. neglected things, ie - wet sandpaper.
