Scion TC

:
2004 Mazda3 Hatchback
Man, those cars are ugly. I have seen three of them around here and they look like a honda accord. They arent aggressive or sporty at all. They look plain and boring. I at first thought they were nice but seeing them in person they arent great at all. I am glad I bought a mazda 3. I was about to trade my mazda in for one but hell no. I am glad I am keeping my hatch.

"It's just another sedan."

That's my opinion on it. There are a few sedans that stand out .... the tC just blends in with the rest.

Too bad the tc is not a sedan. From the outside they are nice, the interior however is uuggllyy.

I liked the reports I read about the Scion

Until I found out that I can't get it here.

Now, not so much.

good things about the tC:

Bigger engine with more torque/hp
TRD bolt-on supercharger
Nicer head unit options and easier-to-expand system (6 disc MP3Player)
nookie-buggy: rear seats fold back 45-degrees, front seats fold flat into footrests.
low price, no negotiatin'
more safety features (3 side impact beams for everyone, knee airbag)

good things about the maz3
More options/styles
more room
slightly faster/stiffer in turns due to less weight
more of a jetta killer than a civic killer.

I was sooo set on getting a TC (before I decided on the 3) I was in love with that car, thought it looked great. But the more and more I looked at it, the more boring it became. And not to mention the interior, CHEAP AND UGLY. I'm pretty happy with my choice now, the 3 has a great interior and looks nice on the outside

they have 150 hp at the flywheel, i raced one and smoked it. the weigh 100 lbs more than the 3s with leather.

I have both a 2004 Mazda 3 4 door with the 2.3L auto & a 2005 Scion tC 2.4L with auto. After putting ~ 13.5K on the 3 & ~ 2K on the tC here are my feeling of both cars.

  • Engine smoothness ............. tC
  • Engine sound ..................... tC
  • Transmission ...................... 3 (ability to manually shift)
  • Brakes .............................. tC
  • Steering wheel feel ............. tC (3 almost wins with controls on the wheel)
  • Stock sound system ............ tC
  • Front seats ....................... tC (much more comfortable)
  • Rear seat room ................... tC (better leg room)
  • Rear seat comfort ............... 3
  • Cornering speed ................. 3 (seems to have less under-steer)
  • Cornering feel ..................... tC (corners much flatter)
  • Road noise (around town) ..... 3
  • Road noise (freeway) ........... tC

How after making the list I am a little surprised since before I made the list I would have picked the 3 as a hands down winner. Especially since most of the time out of the 4 cars that I have I pick up the 3s keys for my daily 90-mile commute. The most amazing part of the comparison is the 3 cost me $19,950 and the tC was only $16,500 so if I were so inclined I could have the TRD blower installed and I would still be out the door for less than my 3.

well I was going to get the scion TC but the dealer treat me like s*** i allready have a mazdaspeed and mazda treat the costumers very good so i decide to get the mazda 3 5 doors i love nice interior , goos engine and is more safer than the scion i love it

Well, most of the options you have listed are based on opinion, so I'm sure to some people the comparison WOULD result in the 3 being a hands down winner.
