SCCA Auto-X Rules: Read This First, Then Ask Questions

Couple more weeks, bummer! We've already had two events!

Definitely check out SMF. Get a local thing going and have fun with it. :)

Heh, same here. 3rd event is in 2 weeks again (we've got a bunch of events spaced at 2 weeks apart this year, not sure why).

And yes, SMF would be the place to play for an F/I MP3

I did my first autox today and I have a completely stock 2003 Mazda Protege with a MP3 ECU. After reading over the first post, with the ECU I should be in the ST class but they said it was FSP. What do you guys think?

That's allowed in STS. And if it's got an MP3 ECU, it's not totally stock ;)
Welcome to your new addiction :D

Yes. My brain still hasn't gotten past the STS=ST and STS2 = STS LOL

Probably GS. There's a chance it hasn't been classed yet, but there usually are "catch all" instances (like the line that's something to the effect of "All V6 Trucks not otherwise classified" in FS)

I have a Protege that I run in ST and would like to stay there. I need new motor mounts and was wondering if that would affect my class. I see that you can have engine mounts but not transmission mount in ST and in Street Prepared it says Trans mount. Would the mount on the driver's side be considered a trans or engine?

I have a 2003 Protege ES and am trying to stay in the ST class. I just want to confirm that I can put the Mazda6 front brakes on my car and not get bumped up a class. I've looked and am pretty sure that I can but I just want to make sure.

Yep, you can go bigger, just so long as you don't go lighter. Has to weigh the same or more than stock.

The bigger/weight is just a proposal right now. Currently brakes are only legal in STX/STU. Read 14.6.E.

question about LSD rules. My protege did not come with one but if a put in a oem msp lsd then can I still race in a stock class? Don't want to cheat. Thanks.
