Scaring unsuspecting passengers! (Share yours too!)

my favorite is the difference between guys and gals.

Girl accountant in my office went with me to pick up a sandwich for lunch and there's a traffic circle and she said she wanted to know what all the fuss was about with my car. I didn't do anything crazy but did accelerate full into the double-lane traffic circle and trail-braked until the back-end start to come around a bit and then go lightly onto the gas so it didn't push too badly while scooting back out into the outer lane of the traffic circle.

She really enjoyed it and was impressed.

I've shown some guys in the office and they just say things like "it's just a souped-up mini-van".

It hurt my feelings, ya know?
(glare)

ha ha.

oh well, you can't please most of the people most of the time...

Took My mother in her 70's for a ride and just punched it a little. She stated "You are going to get a ticket with this thing" Pretty funny.

May she rest in peace, my mom would have gotten a ticket for doing 150 in this thing. I have literally been airborn on the downside of a bridge in a corvair with her because her mom called and said it was an emergency.
That time I was the terrified passenger.

I'm still laughing about this, but this is how it went down. We just came back from lunch and there is a small straight followed by a sharp left hand turn right before my office. In the passenger seat, i have a friend whom is not into cars, and until a little bit ago, had no idea what a speed3 could do. I told him i was gonna try and scare him and he replied "whatever..." I floored it from 2nd gear and i could see from the corner of my eye that he immediately grabbed the Oh Sh!t handle and his face got serious. As im putting 4th gear, I still had 50yds till the beginning of the corner, and I see his foot slamming on the floor (he must of been thinking he had a brake pedal on that side too) I'm still accelerating at this point, then I tap the brakes, heel and toe to third, and continue on the corner, accelerating on the apex... he didnt speak for a good five minutes, and both me and the other passenger could not stop laughing....

wish I had my camera....

it went something like this, except my passenger was not hot like she is....

^^ funny s***. whenever my girlfriend is in my car i try to bang her head against the window by turning real sharp. i almost got her a few days ago and its funny all teh time.

(boom07) ...GOOD GOD! thats horrible!

...ok, i giggled a little...

Thanks for the translation.
my thoughts? I think she's faking it.

Consider this - they're wearing seat-belts.
anyone ever done a track day with track tires and pads and a seat belt and stock seat?
you can barely sit up straight...

seems to me she'd be all over the place if he was really pushing it or she is truly a girlie-girl. I think most girls actually enjoy it, unlike her.

My best friend Dave (M3 with half-roll cage) and I (1989 FC RX-7 SCCA ITS car) took my wife to Gingerman up in Michigan.

She says "I want to ride in the faster car", so I said "well for pure HP, that'd be Dave's car". So she does a few laps in his M3 and comes back and Dave is irritated and I say "she didn't get sick in your car did she?" and he says "no, but she wouldn't stop talking about how she thought it would be faster and more exciting". He was scratching his head since his last male passenger was feelin pretty queasy.

Then she rides in my car which has Kuhmo victoracers on it and some hefty suspension mods for door2door and pulling more g's in the turns than the M3.
This time she's strapped in with a 5-point harness and I warm em up and really start pushin it (there's plenty of run-off at gingerman, so it's not like I'm gonna kill my wife and I).

Same result, except she says "wow, your car is even slower than Daves" (by 4 seconds maybe thanks to about 100 ft-lbs more torque in the M52) and I'm like "HEY, if I didn't spend so much on our dates I'd have a fresh motor and it'd BE faster - c'mon already".

all good teasing, but the fact is, most guys that have ever ridden shotgun in my old car or Dave's were ready to get out and clench their guts after 10 hot laps. I'm really not sure why the girls seemed to fair better as passengers than the guys, but perhaps that just a cultural thing...

I took a friend for a ride after he took me for a ride in a 69 road runner with a 440. The guy is a serious old school gear head.

he's never been in a car that's good in the corners so on we go to an on ramp to the highway...I as the lane clears for the on ramp straight to WOT in 2nd to the top of 3rd and held it until l the apex and then WOT all the way up...tires just holding on as were coming around. I have never seen anyone that freaked out ever...I knew I couldn't get a good response on the straights but those corners were fun.

still to this day he doesn't want to get back in my car and now I have GT spec to help out a little more...will be fun this summer

The girl I am currently dating loves my car...we have a roundabout that if you apex just right you can come out the backside at about 60 mph...took her through that last week before dinner... she was all oooo I was a little scared at first when i saw the roundabout coming at us at about 85mph but i knew you had it under control...I totally got it sideways on the corner leading in at about 75 too...

Picked her up last night with my newly installed corksport intake and turbo inlet, and the first time she hears it, I hear tht little giggle usually only reserved for when I get on it hard..."Whats that" she asks? "My new toy" I say... "Ooooo I like it!! Your car feels way faster..."

Apparently she has a good butt dyno, must be because its so firm...she is only 20 after all hahahah

She ended up in my new Hot Tub last night....hahah I love my car...

Me and two buddies headed up to Whistler the other day for skiing in the MS3. Neither of them had been in the car before but one of them used own a ~2002 Jetta with the 1.8T.

While the road is being upgraded for the Olympics next year, there are still many portions that are still single lane each way. Even the sections that are divided now retain the curves that the old two lane highway had (speed limit on the upgraded highway will still only be 50mph).

So it was three adults with our ski gear and a full tank of gas. On several occasions when we came to the passing lanes, they were quite surprised at pull the car had in accelerating uphill while passing multiple cars. I hadn't had the car that loaded before and even I was pleased with it's passing power considering the weight.... the think pulls like a locomotive!

Needless to say, it was a fun drive there and back.

Driving a co worker home after work, I took one of my favorite back roads. He is busy chatting away on his phone as I say slightly muffled, "Hey I'm going to take this a bit quick." I drop it down a gear and rev it up so i can get up to the speed I want. Within about 2 mins I get done with the road, feeling a bit self assured. My friend has a mortified look on his face, and I hear over the phone, "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!?"

new story from this weekend.

I drove to our company division head quarters to help with some IT stuff. The boss, another IT guy, and I take the mazdaspeed out to get lunch. They are sort of aware of the power just from me talking about it. So we get on the subject about the other IT guy buying a 350z and how they are fast.

He asked how much I paid for the car and how fast is it and why did I choose this over a 350z (I test drove one before I bought this).

Well at that time I was getting on an on-ramp with a clear window to show him why I bought this car. From a 3rd gear 3500rpm start, I smash it. And hear an "Oh s***" from the back seat. Then my boss says, "That's why".

Well i was driving threw downtown Pittsburgh lost like usual and i was coming up to a stop sign. So i started rev up the motor to rev match and down shift, and BANG!!!!!!!!! my let out a loud as backfire, which it does pretty much on demand lol, so none the less i did it on purpose. Man did the ppl duck hahah. It was great.
