Scammed!

i sold this guy my stero and packed it verey verey whell and now this guy supposedly got it and is claming an huge amp and a small peice is missing and the three subs are dystroyed. PLEASE HELP! he could not buy it through ebay so he bought it with paypal. and now he is trying to do a chargeback. why the hell didint he not aceppt the box or tryand get the money from fed-ex. i sold it for 700 and the head unit (700 by its self) is fine and the other amp is fine and cd changer and sound prosser is fine all this stuff is worth 1000 plus. this guy also sells broken crap parts on ebay all the time. what do i do to avoid the charge back???

sold it though e mail that was provided by ebay but not a ebay item

You say this was an e-mail from ebay, but I suspect it wasn't. That's a common scam. Did the initial e-bay e-mail from this guy come through your ebay home page or directly to your personal e-mail? If so, look at the address. If its something like www. so and so @ebay, then its fake. Don't rely to heavily on his feedback either, they can steal all of that they want.

These scammers try to get your Paypal information, then manipulate you and clean out your Paypal account, and if its linked to a bank account they also go there too. Be careful, and in the future, deal only through a legit ebay auction.....

I hate this kind of crap..:mad: ..Good luck to you...I've had problems similair...Fake Ebay emails, red-flags going off, but still got scammed once (pissed) ....Now that your cherry has been broken, you probably will know what to look for in the future...Do a little research on the ways these guys scam people (RTM) ...They do it buying, they do it selling, they have figured a hundred different ways to do it, and you've got to see some of the flags go up :bs: and react to them before you get all freaking excited(ughdance) and sell/buy before you think..(poke)

dude this guy is trying to do a charge back? what is this i gave him what i said exactly what i would do! i started a fed ex claim and told the guy to call them for a pick up and give it to them for inspection. shouldent fed ex pay for any shipping damage!

Yeah doesn't smell like a complete scam....Did you insure the package???? That would make FedEx liable for any damage in transit....If not, then I would ask for the documentation of the items damage, pictures and such, and still would have FedEx pick it up and return it to your possesion...Dude sounds really shady tho, probably got the goods and put a screwdriver to the cones...

yup trying to get fed ex to pay for this but if this guy backs out and cant show me any proof like he says than total scammer. i bolted the subs into plywood and filled the box with paper and backed the other side with another sheet of plywood there is no way it was my falt but yeah insured the box for only 100 bucks against my will wanted to insure for 700 but fed ex doesent go any higher for ground. man i hope i dont have to pay for this crap.

well long story short is: he said "the box showed up with everything shuved in it not mounted or pakaging or anything" so needless to say everything "was runed". I shiped it mounted on a sheet of plywood so nothing could move and then backed that with another sheet of plywood so all and I mean all components including subs could not moved let alone be touched. but he keept all the electronics (somehow they were fine) but the subs were trashed and one particular peice was missing (PLD1), which 99% people do not know what is. so he blamed it on fed ex. so I could not get anymore than $100 for shipping insurance since it was ground (bull s*** rule) but why since I packaged it like it was the covanant. he wound up geting a 5K stero for only $350. not to menchen that was all old school stuff that was all american made.

guess that wasent too short, but now I know when ever I sell stuff to people here I always try and take care of them (ask around). so when I see scammer on someones profile im sure they deserve it (forever).
