I thought I'd start a thread about autocrossing in SC since there seems to be some interest. Feel to post info for clubs and events all over the state here.
If, like me, you're fairly new to auto-x, I suggest finding some local or regional clubs' websites as your best way to find about upcoming events. If the club has a forum, check it out and get to know some people. As a club member you might see benefits such as reduced entry fees, loaner helmets, that sort of thing. You don't have to be a member to autocross. I'm not currently a member of any clubs.
SCCA, the Sports Car Club of America, has at least two chapters in SC. SCCA does a lot more than just autocross; they do rallies, Solo I driving events, and so on. Also note they refer to autocross as "Solo II".

SCCA - South Carolina Region
SCCA - Southeast Division (TN to FL)
One of our own forum members (N1XRR) is involved with Clemson Sports Car Club in Clemson. If you're in my corner of the state you might want to check out their schedule. Keep an eye on their forum as well, for last-minute changes to events and the like.

I would like to add that there are plenty of experts in auto-x there but I am not one of them! I am a complete newbie and perhaps a soon-to-be regular. I'm hoping some experts will find this thread and be available to offer tips and advice. I have been interested in autocrossing for some time now, but I've only recently (yesterday) been out to drive for the first time, and I loved it.
Hope to see you out there!
