2014 Mazda CX9 Touring
Was in for first scheduled maintenance and saw this on the showroom floor. Salesmen didn't know for sure but to me it looks like a 1" Drop, PlastiDipped GT Wheels, and smoked tail lamps. They wanted an extra $3k above market for the package!

3k? that's awesome! 40 bucks in dip material. 10 bucks in tint film for the rear lights, and maybe $500 for some coils? Stock wheels look dumb dropped IMHO, because the offset isn't right for a flush look.

Interesting they put that in the showroom... I'm sure someone will love it though!

Hmm, selling a vehicle that is already illegal to put on the road, unless they left the reflectors red/untinted.

I don't care for it. But, I can't stand the whole black wheel fad.

Those blacked out tail lights will definitely attract attention for sure. Police attention that is. Definitely will get pulled off for those and also may not pass inspection. I'm seeing less and less blacked out taillights, looks like it's fading out, thank goodness.

The 2013+ smoked tint is just right, and still legal, the one shown above is overboard.

Black wheels from far away make them look like winter tires with black steel wheels from tirerack missing the hubcaps.

i actually like the dropped look. i often think to myself our cx-9 looks very car-like; more station wagon than suv. the drop contributes to it being even more car-like.

i also wonder if they put some spacers on the wheels to help the offset.

no way i'd pay $3k for plasti-dipped wheels. now if the wheels were actually powder-coated and an alignment was done or at least checked (give me a printout); i could see negotiating the price down.

our car rides stiff enough, though. what would it ride like on lowered springs?!

I think the drop fits the stock 20's pretty well. If you didnt know the car personally, you wouldnt even know its lowered. It looks more appropriate if anything.

Im guessing thats CJ Wilson Mazda, as they mod every Mazda at least once. lol

I think it looks like a big station wagon and like the look. I don't like the tail lights though, plastic dip, or 3k price increase, but the stance is ok and looks good.

i am thinking they definitely put spacers on the wheels. i looked at ours today and they looked more tucked in than the ones in the pics. makes me wonder what spacers they used... hmmm....

imo i think it looks kind of like a grown up (in size) protege5 (had one) or mazda6 wagon.

I really like the taillights on my 13 CX-9. The smoke is about perfect on black.

that wheel/tire looks horrible in that config, never mind the fact that they are plastidipped

Bingo, They have this one and then a CX-5 with, pretty much, the same treatment.

I was actually a fan of it. Agree that tailights look great stock and don't need to be any darker, I thought the drop looked solid because the CX-9 looks like a wagon as it is, all in all I laughed when I saw the "package price" they were asking. I know it will get picked up by someone in the Chicagoland area, however the same effect can be had for little money.
