Sad Day

Hey there, I thought you all would be curious to hear about this. Up until Tuesday I was the happy owner of a Progege5. That was until the black ice. While I managed to avoid crashing into a fully loaded school bus, I was unable to keep my car in one piece. Although the accident was severe I crawled out without a scratch. Let this be a testament to the safety of the 5. Love it and respect it.

That was the same accident indeed. The bus crashed just minutes before I came upon the scene.

I will probably be buying a new Mazda3, but I will see what the dealership has available in used stock.

Not quite as bad as my wreck, but still a testament to the safety of the Protege. Glad to hear you're OK.

One of the reasons I like my wife driving this car (lives in Bethlehem) is that thick C piller. It would have to be something pretty bad to flatten the roof.

Nearest dealer is Emmaus, right? Good luck on finding a new ride...

wow, glad your okay. after seeing yours and justin's wrecks driving protege's, it makes me feel a little safer now......

I have a lot of family in that area (Bethlehem, Allentown, Emmaus, Kutztown). Glad to hear you're ok; even more glad to see how safe the p5 really is.

wait so the bus crashed first, then you tried to avoid and in doing so hit black ice, looks like you hit a curb, flip, then slide to the other end of the road where you hit the other car in the right rear quarter? What's the speed limit of this road? You must've been going pretty fast...

Good job on surviving though. I like that firefighter crawling into the wreck. Looks like he got flattened.

In order to avoid the cars stopped in the middle of the road, I aimed for the side of the road. There was an embankment there. When I hit the embankment I was launched into the air dukes of hazzard style and came crashing down on my roof. Quite the morning commute.
