Still not sure of the cause. I was running 7psi and going through second gear when it blew.

Just find the cheapest motor you can and throw it in there. You should be able to swap a motor easily in 1 day if you take care to label all the hoses etc. It will either pull out the top or if its like a Honda then lift the car and drop motor out the bottom. Its not such a bad job.

The fact that the oil and the coolant leaked out is where I'm concerned. One had to be the cause of the other?! Unless the part of the block that was blown out punctured the radiator. To be blunt was this sliding sideways pegging the rev-limiter?

I am a bit too paranoid but I check my oil and coolant every day! Especially now with the forged motor!

Yeah that's the thing, I wasn't doing anything crazy at the time, so I'm hopeful the damage isn't too bad. Tow truck'll be out here in the next hour or so, then I'll be able to figure out exactly what's wrong. Pity, I'm in line for Turbolife's FMIC, guess my money for that is going to go into fixing whatever ends up being wrong.

i dont think you are being 100% truthful. there is no way you put a hole in your block at stock boost levels without doing something extremely abusive to the car. Light driving would not cause you to blow up the engine.

I'm the second owner of the car, so I can't vouch for what happened to it before I owned it. Like I said earlier, max boost was set at 7psi and there's no reason to think the boost gauge reads wrong and I was going through second gear when it happened.

i dont think you are being 100% truthful. there is no way you put a hole in your block at stock boost levels without doing something extremely abusive to the car. Light driving would not cause you to blow up the engine.

A friend of mine threw 302 Ford rod driving normally. However, damage occurs over time with a hairline crack working its way across the rod until it leaves it in such a weakened state that it will let go even with tame conditions.

also can be from prior abuse. but the way it came across was that there was no way anything failed due to the operator.

sounds like the previous owner had one hell of a time with the car and you got stuck with the bill.

As others have said, grab a complete engine for around $1000 and swap her in. Dont let this stop you from enjoying a great car.
