S-Plan on Mazdaspeed3 being nixed even on future deliveries?

Alright, a small number of people including myself have managed to get dealers to commit to S-Plan pricing on cars to be delivered in Dec/Jan. One or two might even be getting S-Plan on cars in the batch currently being delivered, but I'm not talking about that. Anyway, a CT Mazda salesman posted the following on another forum which he claims comes from Mazda NA:

....
Mazda sent a notice to dealers on Thursday that no S-Plan price will be printed on invoices, and Mazda North American Operations will not offer S-Plan or E-Plan pricing for the 2007 Mazdaspeed3

Dealers have nothing to do with this.

If a dealer chooses to discount the vehicle, or sell it to you at invoice, then can, but, walking into a dealer with an S-Plan PIN will do nothing for you, Mazda North American Operations will not accept it.

All information potential customers were given prior to 9/28/06 about S-Plan or E-Plan has changed.

Can somebody with an inside line into Mazda NA check this out? My dealer still says S-Plan is up to them but the detail in this last statement is pretty convincing. I'd really like to know before I go ahead and sell my MS6 at a loss to fund my future MS3 purchase.

I had a feeling this was going to be the issue. We have an X-Plan at my job, and was told brings pricing down to $400 above/below invoice.....not totally sure. And all the exception that were listed was on like Aston Martins and high end sheet like that......dont think ill be getting one of those anytime soon. Ill have to see if it works on the Speed3

For S-Plan at least the price is the same as invoice. On X-Plan you can go in and print out an invoice or somesuch, right? If you try it on the MS3 and still works, that would suggest that this salesguy is wrong. Cause he says it won't even print out X/S-Plan invoice pricing or accept their PINs.

Please let us know if you try it and it still works.

No prob. All i actually need is a VIN number and it should tell me right away......ill have to wait till they show up at the showrooms i guess.

S-Plan is NOT offered on the speed 3.... They do not qualify because of limited production. Those and I believe the MX-5 hardtop as well.

I work for a speed dealer so I know. If anyone DOES get S-Plan on the speed3 I wouldnt advertise it. Those dealers can get fined out the ass for that by MNAO so watch it.

You also cant touch S-plan pricing either.... there is no such thing as a discount further than S-plan (unless youre E-plan).

So what about X-Plan

and X-Men?

Yeah, I went to a dealership and a salesman told me that some wanker came in asking for a s-plan for the MS3, and wanted to have one of the 5 (which are all bought already sight unseen) that the dealership was getting.

He was promptly told to GTFO

That's what the dealers were saying about the MS6, too, before they arrived. That didn't last long. By the time they arrived, S-Plan was available at least some dealers. As far as dealer fines, it seems like that shouldn't be an issue. Either Mazda NA accepts the PIN on an MS3 invoice or not. Don't know why fines should be an issue. Fines seem more reasonable for fraudulently accepting S-Plan, ie., for someone who's not eligible. If I'm not eligible, I don't want it, so I'm gonna be completely up front.

I really want to hear from someone who knows if this is really an official Mazda NA policy and who's not a salesman. They have an obvious interest in saying it's not available.

Why bother telling him to f-off? How about sorry, pre-sold already. As for asking, who wouldn't? $1500 is $1500. Especially for me with the massive loss of value on my MS6 due to deep discounting. Also, in my case I'm asking for S-Plan on an ordered car, not one coming in the dealer's standard allotment.

Right, the VIN! Yeah, I guess you would have wait at least until some VINs are listed the mazdausa.com Search Inventory page. With the MS6 these number showed up a lot sooner than they are with the MS3.

Hey listen, Im telling you the actual corporate notification FROM MNAO. Yes I'm in sales, HOWEVER, I was a member on this forums way before I even decided to work for the dealership I am at. Im here to help you guys, and if there was a way that I personally knew about I would tell ya lol. I consider you all my friends and I dont take an interest in ripping my friends off.

As far as X-plan, excuse my ignorance, Ive never heard of it but I'll ask.

Also I have the ability to S-plan price a car regardless of whether or not its eligable... So a dealership who isnt aware its not eligable could still price it out as such.

Just trying to confirm what was said to you Seanw, it is true, but feel free to ask anyone else. If it DOES change though, Ill be sure to let you guys know.

BTW my dealership has the VINs for those already coming in (early oct. del. dates) so VINs could be tested that way.

X-plan is usually the smallest of the discount plans, according to Ford it is for friends and non-immediate family members of ford (or ford owned) employees.

For those that work at a dealer do you know if this is for all plans in general or just the mentioned S and E plans...I ask because being immediate family I qualify for A-plan pricing and last I heard was that was going to be available.

Ill check this afternoon but X was as I mentioned, A is employees and immediate family...I thought S was one of their corporate plans and have never heard of E although I know there are even more than those 4.

edit: crap Aplan on ford is the Splan on mazda, damnit, we'll see if I can still afford it now...

S-plan pricing is for dealership employees and employees of certain companies that Mazda specifies. E-plan pricing is for employees of MNAO.

BTW for those who want it, PM me your fax # and Ill send the ACTUAL bulletin from MNAO on mazdaspeed 3 plan purchasing.

Hey, Sean, some of my best friends are salesman. Just kidding, I appreciate you sharing the info, just need an unbiased source before I make a big decision like downgrading my S-Plan GT hopes to MSRP Sport reality.

A-Plan and X-Plan both convert to S Plan if I remember correctly from the days when I had X plan. So many plans so little time..

The story will probably be no S Plan for the first few months while the orders are satisfied, lets face it, it's bad business to sell a car for a lower price when you have other people lined up to buy the car at MSRP. Once the orders are filled and they have them on the lot S-Plan will be a normal occurence and endorsed by Mazda.

MI is right... ALL ford derived plans (A, X, Z) all convert to S-plan pricing.

I was just about to post this back too lol

thx got the first fax today at work, basically exactly what my dad told me(the Jaguar/ford employee)....At this point I still have to find my new house and get another 2k cleared off the CC before I can put a deposit down, I may have to wait for the third shipment in february or somethin....so sad just that 3 grand price different puts me off a month or 2.....

Also since im now 25 i gotta get my car insurance re-done...lol

ha id just wait a few months and then pick up the car for $300 over invoice like i did with my speed. i would shoot myself if i paid anywhere close to msrp for a mazda
