**********'s New Intake Manifold 101

It's not about the name even... you've put a question in the mind of people now to the point where you've already ensured at least one or two people will not buy this... even if you turn out to be dead wrong.. you've STILL screwed them out of selling at least 1 or 2 if not 10 manifolds... still feel good about that????

and your business would never survive and you'd never make new products... you HAVE to make money to make more products... sometimes a markup is 10 cents.. sometimes it is three times the cost of the product... it's all about the market value and what it takes to run a business.

But the problem is that even if you are wrong... and you admit it... the damage is done and you've scarred numerous people in respect to this manifold... you will never reclaim all the customers.... with luck you may add a couple extras... but that is doubtful...[/QUOTE]

Once people install the manifold and it proves to be good not just dyno sheets but people proven then they will come on these boards and talk about it and he will end recouping the customers in the end. If not then they probably weren't actually that serious about the purchase in the first place. If Cullen was honest from the get go NONE of this would of been nessecary. So in the end Cullen can take some of the blame.

if i am wrong, that is my right. CUllen shouldnt be selling these things if he wasnt ready for some speculation. Right?

this has all been a little past "some speculation".

Some questions yes... he provided dyno sheets... he didn't say "this works... trust me!" He provided results and info...

so i'll take that as a no. so if you have no intent on purchasing this why do you feel the need to concern yourself with it other than to give him s*** for your own personal benefit. I understand you're trying to protect the consumer but why not let someone w/ interest in purchasing ask all the questions?

no, honestly, i did ask him over aim what sponsorship entails. I was really looking at this manifold and was about to buy it even. Until i got curious.

I would love to agree... but I've learned the hard way that it isn't as such... once a doubt is established it continues to erode the sales no matter what.

He was honest from the get go.. he has a manifold that produces more power... then people started asking more questions about the mani itself and he said it's not a 626 manifold... well frankly if it's on a protege it's not a 626 mani :) LOL... but seriously...

From what I read after you said "MAM" dropped you as a sponsor, I don't think any company would or should ever sponsor you again. Just my .02.

And from this drama, both sides have points, but get over it.
Azian6er, if you want to earn some money, why don't you sell disguised OEM parts for a lot of money? It is a pretty good idea ;)

boredom maybe a lil :) But honestly, if people are paying way more then they need to be then i want to let them know. I am for the people, not the hierarchy

Are the runner lengths and diameters the exact same? Is the wall thickness the exact same?

If I posted up 2 gear sets that I told you one was twice as strong as the other... you wouldn't be able to tell the difference... inherently when things are made for an application they will often look the same as similar things for or relative to that application.... it may even be a casting from the same general mold or design... somebody may have taken that design and just reworked it so it would be nearly identical... but that's the nature of how you evolve a product...

I understand what you are saying and where you are coming from....

but also one caveat... comparing junkyard mani prices to a brand new imported price is not exactly the same either. Call up Mazda and find out how much a new mani from a 626 would cost you and then let us know if Cullen's part is still priced "high".

ok u stated your opinion on the mani, now drop it. let people make their own decisions if they want it or not based on the numbers SU is putting up. No need for this s*** to drag on like this ... all you're doing is ****** up another vendors rep, and for something you're not even sure about. its an assumption.

agreed, but who knows if his importer isnt picking up junk mani's and sandblasting them/ acid dipping etc?

This si speculation i am aware, and probably not likely, but also we all know mazda jacks prices like no other, so if he were able to source the mani from the casting company that supplies to mazda that would kinda eliminate the middle man eh?

I have a 2000 626 mani std. emissions (no vcts vics etc..) on order. 65 shipped from MO.

its not like a mani sees a lot of "wear" either. Clean it up and its like new.

nicely put turfburn ... i just have yet to see the argument about this. why does this community always give the vendors s*** about every ****** thing ... people then wonder why this car has such a small aftermarket

Because there are too many ******* assholes on this site !
