if it is an easy something to change like a bolt hole or something, there is no way in hell i am going to pay 550+ for it. Same goes for my fellow protege members. I dont want them to have to pay a s*** load for something they can easily do.

And as i have said before, if cullen REALLY wanted to support the community, and had a spine, instead of wanting to profit from us, his loyal companions, he would spill the beans and then develop something that was really custom, like a sheet metal manifold or something.
-Bryan

It takes MONEY to support the community. We HAVE to make money so that we can do more projects so that we can get more stuff out for the community.

So even if it is one bolt hole that has to be changed... he did it, and he figured it out.. it's HIS right to make you pay for that knowledge and profit from it so that he can CONTINUE to support the community... He set a profit margin that fits his needs right or wrong is only a matter of how many people want to pay how much for it... if he is marking it up 300 bucks that isn't wrong or non-supportive of the community... it's simply what he needs to support his business... but if he divulges what it takes to make this manifold then he is suddenly out that profit margin and he CAN'T support the community because he can't support his business functions..

what people don't seem to get is that if you want to support the community and expand the products you need to pay for products instead of trying to undercut each and every one of us... nobody on here is getting rich... NSN doesn't even pay a single soul a single dime at this point... I get parts for me at my own cost... but that's as good of a return as I get... I have to mark stuff up and make money on it so that I can fund new projects and to fund keeping things in stock so people don't b**** about long wait times...

So basically what you've been trying to do is "get something for nothing" as far as how this affects the business world.... Would I love to know how to do it so I could do it on my car or know what is or isn't different so I could or couldn't sell it... sure... but as a vendor I know that doing that would actually hurt the community and myself in the long run.... but it isn't the responsibility of the vendor to disclose the details... you don't expect race teams to explain how they got more horsepower to each other so they can beat the other guy the next time... you don't expect Target to tell you where they get their shirts so you can see if you can find the same shirt somewhere else cheaper.... you don't expect the guy driving the gas tanker to let you pay him the same the gas station does so that you can save the whopping 1 cent per gallon a gas station makes... you also don't expect Beau or myself or Juan to disclose the full wiring diagrams and tricks that it takes to make an engine management system run perfectly....

It's business...

You are a vendor, so your disposition will be the same steve. Here is an example:

If you were to want to buy a gun from your local gun store and the price was 700 dollars and it had extra ribbing on the handle for better grip, which the shop made special for that gun, would you buy that over a gun that was 70 dollars shot the same did everything the same except the ribbing wasnt there?

Try to look at it from the consumers point of view. That is the motto of business anyways right? If the consumer thinks that a company, large or small, is trying to profit a large sum of money over such a small modification, do you think the CONSUMER will be happy?

Moreover, if the Vendor really were concerned about bumping business, it would establish a rock solid clientel where TRUST is the common denominator. A business is bound to fail , in my opinion, if these criteria are not met.

Im sorry that you guys have to make your living in this way , or at least some portion of it, but this is the business world and you will always have people that want more answers.

I have not attempted to bash or mutilate SU's name, save for a rash thread i started about a 626 intake on ebay. I am over that now, and I just want the comsumers to know what is going on.

Please try to look outside the box, i have from your pint of view. I could NEVER change one small thing and mark up the price that much if I truly believed I befreinded a community such as this one.

Bottom line, it is Cullens right to sell this, i have never disputed that. But it is also MY right to try to shed abit mor elight on this matter free of Bashing etc. This is what I am attempting to do, yet I am being ostracized for my actions.

I will leave well enough alone, but believe me, i will be getting a 626 manifold and trying it out seeing what doesnt fit etc. I may end up being severely wrong, and hey I will suck it up, be a man and admit my fault. But if i find that there is minimal difference, then i will want some answers.

Also, Cullen, at least tell me you changed something interiorly to the manifold. Maybe then I could understand.

See what you don't know or understand is that the reason I started this busines... literally THE reason I started NSN was because I was fed up with dick vendors who marked stuff up too much and gave bad customer service...

I assure you my point of view is quite well that of the consumer... but I also have certainly been enlightened a good bit by being on the other side of the fence in some ways now.

ok ok ok ill let it go. I just dont like people being duped, but hey you can lead a horse to water but you cant make him drink right?

I apologize for this uproar etc... sorry sorry for asking questions and doing investigatory work on my own, sorry for being a good consumer, sorry for all these things.

If people want to buy this then that is their choice period. End of story, thats all she wrote. Peace.

if this is the truth, then why stand for an intake manifold that is being marked up? "Possibly"

How would I know the gun was the same? If that ribbing meant that I would be able to shoot 30 out of 30 in clays instead of 28 out 30 every time... then it would be worthwhile now wouldn't it?

Try to look at it from the consumers point of view. That is the motto of business anyways right? If the consumer thinks that a company, large or small, is trying to profit a large sum of money over such a small modification, do you think the CONSUMER will be happy?
Is the vendor lining their pockets or using it for more products? I think most people here would agree that if the vendor is using their profits to build more products for the consumer to help diversify the community extra money going to the vendor is just fine... but if that vendor is lining their pockets and souping up their ride... then I doubt anyone is happy about that other than the vendor.

Moreover, if the Vendor really were concerned about bumping business, it would establish a rock solid clientel where TRUST is the common denominator. A business is bound to fail , in my opinion, if these criteria are not met.
You know what... that's fine and good... but when it comes down to it even if a customer loves NSN to death... and thinks we are the greatest thign in the world... the odds of them being willing to spend an extra 15% on a product I have over something someone else has when they are tight on money is just about zero... price has to be equal in most cases before you'll win out... loyalty only goes so far sadly because we all watch our money...

Im sorry that you guys have to make your living in this way , or at least some portion of it, but this is the business world and you will always have people that want more answers.
I don't make a living this way... I run this company, work as an engineer 40 hours a week, and have a job in a gas station to fund add ons to my car... I work about 100 hours a week or more... just so I can live and love these cars.

I have not attempted to bash or mutilate SU's name, save for a rash thread i started about a 626 intake on ebay. I am over that now, and I just want the comsumers to know what is going on.
It's not about the name even... you've put a question in the mind of people now to the point where you've already ensured at least one or two people will not buy this... even if you turn out to be dead wrong.. you've STILL screwed them out of selling at least 1 or 2 if not 10 manifolds... still feel good about that????

Please try to look outside the box, i have from your pint of view. I could NEVER change one small thing and mark up the price that much if I truly believed I befreinded a community such as this one.
and your business would never survive and you'd never make new products... you HAVE to make money to make more products... sometimes a markup is 10 cents.. sometimes it is three times the cost of the product... it's all about the market value and what it takes to run a business.

But the problem is that even if you are wrong... and you admit it... the damage is done and you've scarred numerous people in respect to this manifold... you will never reclaim all the customers.... with luck you may add a couple extras... but that is doubtful...

I hadn't heard from you at all prior to this. Which shows you are in it for yourself.

Because knowing the pricing he has on other products that I can't even come close to touching.. I know he doesn't mark up un-necessarily... so the odds of it being marked up without reason are damn near 0. Because if he has to mark it up to make money on it so that he can do another project like it or something that requires even more RandD and dyno time.. then he should mark it up... because in this communit unlike the car community I was in before actually has vendor choices and we don't have to whip out the vaseline just because a vendor wants us to. Because if he is marking it up and someone figures it out later he'll reap those rewards... but as I said... based on his pricing otherwise I can't even touch half his product lines with my sources so I know the markup isn't there.

if i am wrong, that is my right. CUllen shouldnt be selling these things if he wasnt ready for some speculation. Right?

-Bryan

so i'll take that as a no. so if you have no intent on purchasing this why do you feel the need to concern yourself with it other than to give him s*** for your own personal benefit. I understand you're trying to protect the consumer but why not let someone w/ interest in purchasing ask all the questions?
