RX8s vs Grids

thats like takin a maybach to a construction site to haul gravel......wtf!!

I actually think those are all overpiced...and I do Have RX8 Wheels.....But If I was going to spend goos money..It would be on a set of Custom Forgelines without a doubt....Put the rest of those wheels to shame in Quality, look, and Strength.
Period.

Oh ...and they are made miles from my house.

But at the end of the day it's still just Mazda with $4k+ worth future insurance claim when they get jacked.

Why would they get jacked..Knocks on wood...But I have had plenty of wheels over the 15+ years I have been driving...Never had a set stolen yet....?

Maybe I am lucky.

grids imo, but its your choice and f whatever anyone else thinks its ultimately up to you. BTW time attack on true red is the hawtness but thats just my .02

i dont think you'd have that much trouble with theft on the forgeline rims. only people who really know their s*** would know that they're worth that much... i had no idea they were that expensive till i checked that link. i'd bet that enkeis and OZ's are stolen more, not just because they're more popular but because the people that steal them know what they are and what they can get for them.

i would agree tho that if its a DD, $1000/rim seems pretty excessive.

As much as I like new wheels, I'd still have to go w/ the rx8s in terms of cost/looks. I've got them and I've run them on my speed3 as daily driver wheels. I got my set at $350 about 3 years ago and have run them ever since. I browse around looking for a new set of wheels ever other month and have yet to find a new set of wheels that makes me what to replace the rx8s. I painted them a slightly darker shade of silver a few months ago and it has raised the bar just a bit higher.

sok07, what suspension are you running....that looks crazy low!!

H&R coilovers. Measured drop pictured is around -1.9" front from stock and rear is about -1.8" from stock. Rears are pretty much maxed out, but the fronts can be adjusted to give another 3/8" worth of drop. I can't go too low on the front due to my driveway. I just barely scrape exiting as I sit now.

I like the RX-8s, though I am partial... (lol2)

Maybe have the RX-8s powder coated in a gunmetal or something.
The RX-8s are much cleaner looking wheel. Less spokes the better...

Less spokes the better...

i'd agree with that, because in general i tend to like 5 spoke over 6, 10, etc. however, some mesh wheels can look really nice in the right application.

also, the minimum spoke limit should definitely be set at 5. does any one else remember those mustang wheels from the mid 90's with just 3 spokes?

IMO the RX8's have a much cleaner look and are one of the best looking wheels on our cars
