RX8 wheels on a Mazda3

does anyone know what the difference is between the lug nuts on an RX8 and the ones on a Mazda3 (with stock 17s)?

I put some RX8 wheels on my Mazda 3 but then noticed that the lug I use is tapered and that the RX8 rim looks to be flat.
I would guess that this isn't a good fitment and that I need to change it.

Any ideas or help would be much appreciated.

I thought they were the same. I was going to get those. where did you buy them and for how much? Sorry I can't help with your question

have you noticed any difference in perforance with the rx-8 wheels what size tires are you running.

nevermind...
hey,

I just wanted to let you know that there is no need to worry about the rims and lug nuts.
I found out at the dealership today, that the lug nuts are the same for both the Mazda3 and the RX8.
I suppose I looked at mine in too dim of a light and the rim looked flat to me, not tapered.
Plus the bigger circles, as it turns out, are from the lug sockets.
:-(
Duh!

take care.

in regards to purchasing...
I picked mine up off of a guy on eBay.
he was a new user and just happened to be traveling through my town, so he met me
close to my home and sold me the whole set for $400 cash.
WHAT A STEAL!!!
(no tires on them, but the RX8 tires won't fit anyway)

in regards to the tires...
I am running Kumho Ecsta 711 (high performance summer tire)
they are 225/40/18
they fit perfect.
my car is not lowered and I don't think I'll lower it because they sit sort of low stock
I think the tires I got handle great and are all I need; I'm not auto-crossing, just cruisin'.
Be ready for some road feedback, the fat tires grip everything. :-)

Congrats on the purchase of the rims. I've had mine installed for about a month now and I love them as well. I'm keeping the stock height as well as I find it low already for my tastes. Let's post up some pictures! (headbang)

hey, thanks for the offer.
At this point, and seeing how hard they look on my car, I don't forsee my wanting to sell them any time soon. :-)

keep your eyes out on the web; those rims pop up on there every once in a while on auction sites.

Yeah I have the stock 17's.
I cruised the RX8 boards for mine. Lot's of guys over there have aftermarket wheels on their cars and their OEM 18s sitt'n in the garage collecting dust. :)
