rx 8 wheels

I saw a mazda 3 today and the wheels looked alot like mine . Does Mazda use the same design wheel for both the rx8 and other models? not a big deal but for the price difference i thought the rx 8 shoud have a design of its own, just wondering.

There is a good chance that they were RX8 wheels. The bolt right in the 3 and are a common swap.

Rx8 wheels are a very popular swap option for Mazda 3 owners. If you decide to keep the stock height, you can safely use the OEM RX8 tires. If you lower the car you need to use 225/40-18's instead, to lessen or eliminate rubbing.
I've been in the market for a set, but the local sellers I've been dealing with are squirrels, and can't be depended on to be serious....

what about on a p5? what tire sizes can you get away with mounting rx-8 wheels on a p5? does anyone have any personal experiences?

there are a few people w/ RX8 rims on their P5's. I know you can only run a maximum of a 35 series tire...i think its 225/35/18

I have 215/35/18 Kumho on my p5 with no rubbing or no rolled fenders. I think if you used 225/35/18 you would need to have the fenders rolled.

Tire size is 215/35/18 and you may still need to roll the rear fenders depending on which lowering springs/struts you have and if you have any weight in the back (people always riding in the back, soundsystem etc). IIRC, bala de plata is running a 40 sidewall but I don't remember if he rolled his fenders or not.

they look so sick on a 3! I can see why its a common swap.

I'm am thinking about selling mine in the next few months, they look better on the 3. I have the chrome ones if anyone is interested.
