RX-8...The most beautiful car ever

Yeah a s2000 with a 0-60 of 5.4 would mean its just as fast as a 3rd gen TT RX-7 or my TT 300zx, thats not happening. That statement is :bs:

I was mistaken, the S2000's 0-60 is 5.6seconds. Still VERY fast. I think the supercharged S2000 has an average 0-60 of 5.0 to 5.2seconds. That's in the range of cars such as the Ferrari Modena and the Z06.

I'd tried to convince my dad to get a S2000, but he has 2 dogs, so that wouldn't work so well..

That being said how come the 3rd Gen RX-7 won the G-force challenge?

Was it a bone stock RX7? If not, that's why. The RX7 is an awesome handling car, and with full coilovers, the car is amazing. The S2000 is amazing stock, but nowhere near the handling of a RX7 with full coilovers.

Thought this was crude, but appropiate.

Actually 3rd gens were tested to be about 4.9 ~ 5.1

:D :D

Exactly,....nothing more, nothing less.

The S2000 isn't the best car ever made either. But, in performance, the S2000 is far beyond the RX8. In comfort, the RX8 is far beyond the S2000.

The srt4 is better than the S2000, so everything must be better than the S2000.

Hell, there's miatas that spank S2000's on the track, LOL.

Nice, S2000 trolls still everywhere comparing car type L with car type B. I laugh every time!

You are an idiot.

I still think the 3rd gen RX-7 is the most beautiful car that was ever made. I took a good look at the RX-8 yesterday and today ($30K, btw) and just don't seem to like how it looks. I still would like one, but I'd take a 7 first.

yea how the hell is the srt better than the s2000.....acceleration... if you have been reading this thread that's is not what the discussion is about it is about overall. overall the srt is a rental IMO.

2002 Titanium Spirit R RX-7 :D

Man how much are the RX-8' selling for in the states??? Right pimped out in Canada you're lookin about $39 CDN give or take.

$30k here in the Omaha, NE metro. I don't know what options it had, but that's what the sticker said.

$32K in th us, i just priced one. You can't touch leather otherwise they tack on a $4K touring package BS

$27,315 at my brothers dealership with the 6 speed and 18", they have 18-20 with more on the way.

I'm starting to like the looks of the G35 Coupe WAY more than the Z. The lines just look smoother & more sophisticated.

Yea i love the G35 but it is a little out of my price range, plus it does'nt have the gay ass door handels like the 350z.

What sucks is that damn $3550 package you have to get if you want leather. So the car is over $30K at that point.

I assume the original post is about the looks of the RX-8? I haven't read all 7 pages of posts but I think the RX-8 looks alot better than the 350Z. I'm more of a G35 fan because I dont like that slope the Z has....sure its more aerodynamic but it look weird. As Black Majik MSP said the G35 is more sophisticated. I just got the vibe that Mazda wasn't going for a true sports car like the RX-7. I kinda like the 4 seats that can actually sit people. I like to drive my friends around on the weekend...something you can't do on a 350Z or S2000. More seats=more girls!

I started reading about the performance of the RX-8 in this thread. Maybe Im BSing but I thought Mazda didn't intend for the RX-8 to be an RX-7 replacment. I dont know if the rumors are still out but I thought they were targeting 2006-2008 for the 4 gen RX-7. One magazine, I forgot which one, said they are experimenting with a three rotor design. I seen the concept designs and they look nothing like the RX-8...way more agressive. Im sure the 350Z and the S2000 will smoke the RX-8 but the RX-8 benifits from the 50-50 weight distrabution. As for reliability...well...The renisis is supose to be alot better and envriomentally friendlier. I assume as long as you dont turbo and blow your Apex seal the the Renisis would be fine. Its not the most efficent or environmentally friendly vehicle to drive but I think Mazda did a nice job with it! IMO For the price...yeah it may be a bit over priced...maybe if it was around $25,000-$26,000 I would buy it in a heart beat. You got to remember that their is only one plant that can handle the mass production of rotary vehicles and Mazda owns it. That may be the reason for over pricing the RX-8. I wonder if Mazda will change the price since it only Dynoed in at 232 hp and not 250 hp? They did offer to buy back any RX-8 becasue of the mis-advertisment of the hp ratings. RX-8 is a beautiful car and I'm hoping one day we'll see that Mazdaspeed version of it and hopefully a 4th gen RX-7. I guess alot is riding on how good the RX-8 does on the market. IMO

oh people might hate me for this but I thougt the X-men RX-8 was beautiful.

Yeah I love the S2000. Personally I would take an S2000 over a 350Z. But RX-8 is unique...ah decisions! I wish I had $35,000!
