RX-8 Facts.....very interesting....

That was really interesting.

But I have to admit I was waiting for something like this:
FACTS
1. RX-8s are mammals.
2. RX-8s fight ALL the time.
3. The purpose of the RX-8 is to flip out and kill people.

Missing from the list, I'll add a few:
The automatic RX-8 also has a shift beep at the redline for sport-mode operation.

Pressing and holding the Tune knob on the radio for a few seconds resets the radio at the audio presets(bass, treble, etc) displaying a flashing "CLEAR" on the screen.

Grrrrr.... it makes me so angry that Mazda wastes money manufacturing automatic RX-8's (or even moreso -- MX-5's). It makes my opinion of Mazda one notch lower. But hells yeah.... profits and all. They're a corporation not a charity -- they obviously had some economic rationale. And the only car company I like better than Mazda made this retarded vehicle called a Cayenne. I drove a Turbo version. It was fast but I was utterly bored. Well, that's sort of an exaggeration. Hell, they're been lots of autotragic Porsches before that anyway. Puke anyway.

Jebus-- at least they've never manufactured an automatic Mazdaspeed.

Some of the facts one of the earlier posters thought they'd see in this thread:

- The RX-8 has two speeds: off and pwn.
- When the RX-8 drives it isn't moving forward -- it's moving the Earth backwards.
- Every mathematical inequality officially ends with < rx8
-The only thing Mr. T, Vin Diesel and Chuck Norris can agree on is a rx8.
-If the RX-8 had wings, it would fly.
-There's no I in team, there's one in renesis, f*&k you team
-RX-8's don't burn oil -- they convert it back into dinosaurs.
-The RX8 can be completely dismantled into fully functioning parts suchs as the center console becoming a second oven and the hand brake pulling out to be a sword.
-When an RX-8 hits another car it's not an accident -- it's an execution.
-You can fit 3 dead adults in the trunk so its really zoom 4 seven- 350z/s2k cant even come close to that.
-Even Chuck Norris believes that RX-8's, rather than children, are the future.
-The RX-8 doesn't take you from point A to point B -- it brings point B to you.
-They were going to make "RX-8" toilet paper but then they realized that the RX-8 doesn't take s*** from ANYONE!
-The Rx-8 can, and has, revved to infinity - twice.
-The RX-8 assassinated Kennedy from the grassy knoll.
-The cloth seats of an RX-8 are made of the softest material known to man: Baby Bunny Scrotum's.
-Mazda RX-8: A Swedish penis pump on wheels.
-The RX-8 rotors don't move, the universe itself rotates around the eccentric shaft. If the Renesis ran counterclockwise, time would run backwards.
-The makers of the 1968 Lincoln Continental invested heavily in fortune tellers so they could look into the future, see the RX-8, and steal its doors.
-If you play that rotor backwards it says "pistons can bite my left nut".
-All other cars look like the Rx-8...out of respect. The Crossfire failed to comply, which is why you never see them on the streets. The Rx-8 had no comment on the disappearance.
-Everytime an RX-8 has a shift beep, an angel gets its wings.
-A priest, a rabbi, and a duck walked into a bar. They saw the Rx-8 there, decided this was no joke, and found another bar.
-Music listens to the Rx-8. One time it didn't, that's how we got Musak.
-The Rx-8 tempts Satan.
-If the Rx-8 was a one legged man, the ass kicking contest would be no contest.
-The area between an atom's electrons and nucleus is known as the RX-8 turning radius.
-The sound of the renesis engine comming to life is the closest reproduction man has ever made of the first words ever spoken.....
-At 9000 RPM, the rotational velocity of the rotors shears the fabric of space/time and creates a small black hole. This is where the missing HP and gas mileage went.
-In 1972 a crack commando unit vehicle was sent to prison by a military court for a crime it didn't commit. This vehicle promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today still wanted by the government, it survives as a soldier of fortune. If you have a problem. If no one else can help, and if you can find it, maybe you can hire: THE RX8.
-The Rx-8 once cured a child of cancer. Once finding out the father drove a S2000 it uncured the child and killed the father. The Rx-8 is a cruel God.
-The RX8 is so cool, it doesn't return Spielberg's phone calls

These cars really are unique. I am really proud to own one.

P.S. Just got washed and waxed today, labour of love lol. Maybe I'll post pics of her later this week.

bill brassky drove an RX-8.

i thought this was interesting:

The hood and rear doors of the RX-8 are aluminum. Additionally, they arent welded together but instead joined via friction.

why are the hood and rear doors joined via friction? maybe that's why it's so hard to check the oil.

-The cloth seats of an RX-8 are made of the softest material known to man: Baby Bunny Scrotum's.

-Even Chuck Norris believes that RX-8's, rather than children, are the future.

hahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

- fact, RX8 is the biggest failure from mazda

- fact, only car in history to have a recall to replace all engines.

what do you drive flip and funk?

im not going to argue about the first one, but I will say as far as the second one, totaly untrue......many manufactures have recalled cars for engine problems and replaced whole engines.....

hell, look at Saturn, when they had a problem with engine production they issued a recall and all affected cars got replaced...completly, not just the motors......

At least they didnt pull a "toyota" and instaly blame the customers for sludge buildup that lead to engine failure.

lol this coming from a guy with 2 new engines.

Hey, dont get me wrong, my car has problems, and I am dealing with mazda on it.

The FACT is that mazda is not the first company to issue a recall on engines. How many engines is yet to be seen, but it definetly wont be all RX8s and most of them are US models, other parts of the world are pretty much uneffected.

Im not taking this personal, or trying to attack you...im all for jokes and poking fun at the RX8 and the rotary in general ( I work in a 'tuner-shop' and all the other guys constantly make fun of my car and the rotary, ect ). I am just posting my view on what you said.

Also, Im not sure what you mean by "RX8 is mazda's biggest failure" they have already sold close to double the number of RX7s they sold in the US market, and 06 is the third year of selling them (same ammount of time they sold the RX7).

Its funny that they stopped selling the RX7 here cause of its cost vs other cars in the market (close to 40k, at the time that would get you a porsche 911 or a corvette, or equaly 'high performance' car. same as a 60k car now). and also because the Rx7 had a few 'reliability' problems. So when mazda brought the rotary back to the US, they were determined to show the US that the rotary was reliable, and because it was NA, it looked like it might be (older NA rx7s had few problems and would commonly last 150-200k miles with no major work)....but the RX8 has a higher % rate of failure (esp the Automatic) than the RX7 Turbo did.

no mazda is not the only company with problems but rotory is bad and is making mazda lose tons of money. Admit it, rx8 is bad. only people that relaly defend the bad rotory is the owners *surprise* *surprise*. You guys get bad gas milage with out the hp or torque. Give it up.

You sir are a complete idiot for trying to tell RX-8 owners, who love thier cars, that they suck. And you drive what exactly?

God forbid Mazda for continuing to use a revolutionary motor in 1 model.

Furthermore, the RX-8 is a great car. While the Renesis has had a few problems, Mazda is dealing with it properly. Leaving the engine out of the equation, the RX-8 is brilliant. Handles great, one of the best driving feelings ever, lowest roll over possibility, etc.

Have you ever driven a RX-8, or are you basing your stupidity on recall notices?

Clearly if the owners don't mind the gas mileage or power output, WHY SHOULD YOU?!

What's it to you if Mazda is losing money on the RX-8? The Mazda 3, 6, Tribute, and CX-7 are now selling extremely well and Mazda is doing quite fine.

Yes, I am defending the RX-8, and I do not own one. Probably never will. I work with the cars and I like them.

Personally I applaud Mazda's efforts of fixing the engine problems.

rotary engines are amazing. The design is genius and they are truly unique and full of potential. The rx8's are great cars but I would kill to own a 93 rx7 with a manual tranny. props to mazda for sticking with it and investing the engineering time when no car company wanted anything to do with rotaries.

everyone is open to state their opinions...thats fine.

Personal I am unhappy with some of the short-coming/problems with this car, but I new about most of them (other than some recalls) when I got the car.

I had a bugget of ~30k in my pocket, and wanted a new car with a warranty...ect. I looked at the G35, 350z, STI, Evo.......and the one that came out on top for an all around car (good daily, decent power, good handling, good platform to build off of.....good looks...ect....) I chose the RX8....even after back to back testdrives against the 350z (my 2nd choice).

you can just generalize and say "the rx8 is bad" it has its problems....sure

But the interior and build quality of the interior is top notch....the fit and finish, matieral....layout....its awsome...MUCH better than the 350z....and better matieral than the evo 8.

It does have some issues with the engine that are unresolved....but all the other things (brakes and transmisson) have been fixed in 99.9% of the cars.

If the RX8 had a piston motor, something like the MZR out of the Mazdaspeed6 I dont think you would call it bad....and I think a lot more people would buy them.

Its pretty much just the rotary engine that you dont like, as well as many other people....thats fine, no one says you HAVE to like it.

Some people love the rotary, some people hate it....there doesnt seem to be a middle ground on the issue.

I think...even if it has problems...that the rotary motor is a very cool idea, and when its running right its a blast to drive...even in the low-power RX8.....not to mention the amazing RX7.

Not every rotary has problems, not even the majority of them....maybe 10% AT THE MOST, although I think its half that (5%).

At least mazda is doing something different......look at chevy....the top dawg motor they have is the LS7 in the C6Z06, sure it makes great power, but cmon....its a pushrod OHV motor......

it has exotic titanium con rods but its still using technology from the 1950's......it works, and works well.....but why not PUSH the envelope....DOHC v8's or turbo v6s.....something.

Instead lots of companys just make bigger motors when they need more power and use technology that is decades old.....

dont give me the "its proven" talk......I know it works....but to me, whats cool is cutting edge ideas.....new concepts......state of the art engineering....the Renesis in the RX8 is that.....that car has more electronics than some planes...lol

Its all new technology...almost in the prototype phase...so problems are to be expected. Especially when you drive the car hard.

this is in no way written in anger, im just having a convo. :-)
