hey , is it just my car or has anyone else notice undercarriage corrosion?
this car is only 1 year old and already some spots of rust are visible under rear bumper area and subframe, i pressure washed it a couple of times during the winter and it didn't seem to help to prevent the rust ..

any suggestions ?

that is y i dont drive my car in the winter illinois puts so much salt down, so much this year that they nearly ran out and started puting sand on the road

wait and see what it looks like in 7yrs!!! we're in the great rust belt of the NE, the only thing you can really do is store it away, or use it only on "nice" winter days...the salt and moisture is a killa!!

it's a hopeless cause...it's like everything in life it gets old (rusts) and dies (falls apart)

up there the body cancer gets it from the bottom up, here in florida the sun cooks the paint, rain wears it down, then they rot from the top down LOL... crazy world isn't it?

The other day as I was washing my car, I notice some little red ticks in my car under the soap. I'm like no chance in hell (I got the car November 2007 brand new). Clear off the soap, the whole driver side is completely covered in rust spots. What the ****, what can I do?

The rust spots on your paint are nothing to worry about. Metal gets stuck in the paint and then it rusts. Just go get a clay bar kit and it will take all those metal pieces off your car. I like to clay bar my car once a year even if I don't nitice anything on it.

There are specific products that help with rust pop outs better than clay (but clay is great for anything else :) )

god dont remind me! i haven't had my car through winter yet and i'm not lookin forward to it!

por-15 is a commonly available compound containing osphoric acid, this stops the rust, even deep down rust via a chemical process. Industrial grade osphoric acid will do the same for less money, but it's not generally available over the counter in most cities.

most of the "rustspots" people get are also different deposits from the salty sandy roads that bond to the paint and rust on top of the paint. like said before, just do your paint protection s*** and youll be fine.
