Rusty AWR Endlinks?

I've been worried about my slider-brackets on my AWR endlinks getting so rusty that they can't be unscrewed...How can you adjust your adjustable swaybar if the endlinks are rusted? You can't.

(negatize's pic...I hope he doesn't mind :))

Anyhoo, I came up with an idea that just might work. I drilled out the slider-brackets a tiny bit and traded the black steel bolts for Stainless Steel bolts with SS aircraft nuts on them. Instead of threading into the bracket to tighten, I'll just tighten the nut. No more stripped or broken bolts.:)

Here's a couple of pics:

i like it.. i been lookin into one of those bars too.. do u get the slot machien feel from it?

The swaybar really helps with understeer. The rear end of the car comes around nicely when I let up on the gas in a corner now. I've heard that it can be a handfull in the rain, and I can imagine it will be, but so far so good!
I'm pretty sure there's a guy selling a 21mm for $180, not bad. I paid $220, and I feel like it was worth it.
One thing that is bugging...the clunk. I;m gonna go to the skate shop and get some pushers(for the trucks). I'm thinking that a couple of pushers might just quiet down the endlink noise. I'll post the results of my next experiment. :D

mypfizzle: To answer your question...Yes, between the JICs and the AWR, it feels like a slot-car now. You oughtta come with us for our HWY 1 drive on Saturday, and I'll let you try it for yourself!
