hey guys, wonder if any of you have run into this, only when the steering wheel is going to the right, my car makes a weird noise like belts rubbing or a slight humming. doesn't do it to the left. just wondering if anyone has a slight clue to what it could be.
im sure a sound clip would be nice and i will eventually try to get one. my thoughts were, power steering (belt?) or some sort of bushing that is gone. im at a loss and its just a little worried somethings gonna break when im driving lol

any help is much appreciated!

If this happens always, even when your car is standing still I had something that sounds like the same problem with my old car (92 model 626 GE.)

If I remember correctly (it was 4 years ago after all) it turned out to be a combination of worn out shocks and stiffened up lower control arm mount. I had the joint greased up and replaced the front shocks to fix the problem.

To find out if this might be your problem raise both front wheels and turn the right wheel with your hands. I remember seeing my shocks resist movement to the right and that generated the humming sound in my car. If you aren't experiencing any vibrations on the steering wheel you are probably fine, but I would suggest not taking my word for it and have it checked out.

haha..naw ill just take your word for it.

seriously tho, thanks for the response. it doesnt vibrate at all. i just hear it when im turning right anywhere off center. (also get a cool breeze in the car when turning right for some reason) im gonna throw on the summer wheels this week and ill take a look while its on the hoist. Thanks!
