I changed the transmission fluid the other day with Royal Purple 75 - 90. I have heard from others saying they have used the synchro fluid instead. Am I o.k. with what I used or no? It feels notchy now, but it could just be in my head.

did you use there max gear gl-5 gl-4 stuff??? if so that is what it calls out for thats what i used. the shycncro max oil is for cars that are suposed to run regular motor oil or automatic teransmission bluid in there manual.

Synchromax is a manual transmission fluid that increases performance and the life of your equipment. It improves shifting, reduces gear noise and increases power transfer to the wheels. It also lowers operating temperatures and provides outstanding wear protection for longer transmission life.

Synchromax is recommended for manual transmissions that specify an automotive transmission fluid. Its also ideal for 44 transfer cases and motorcycle gear boxes. Synchromax is fully compatible with all types of friction materials. It provides excellent corrosion and oxidation protection without affecting the soft metals commonly found in manual transmission synchronizers.

Max-Gear is an ultra-tough automotive gear oil. Its designed to maximize power and provide unsurpassed protection to heavily loaded gears. It makes gears run smoother, quieter, cooler and longer without overhauls.

Max-Gear outperforms other gear oils because it combines the highest quality synthetic oils with Royal Purples proprietary Synslide additive technology.

Max-Gear is recommended for use in truck, motor home / RV, and automotive front or rear differentials, manual transmissions, and lower gear units of marine engines that specify use of an API GL-5 or GL-4 fluid. All viscosities of Max-Gear are formulated with hypoid friction modifiers necessary for use in clutch or cone type differentials. No additional additives are necessary.

Manual Transmission / Transaxle (ATFs) Synchromax

Manual Transmission / Transaxle (API GL-4 or GL-5: 75W90, 80W90) Max-Gear 75W90

Manual Transmission / Transaxle (API GL-3: 75W90, 80W90) SAE 10W40 / XPR 10W40

In fact I am really fighting off the urge to buy a corksport turbo back today. It is going to take will power not to. If that happens, I will definately be keeping it for a while still.

keep fighting the impulse. A racing exhaust is just that. Start with the midpipe, test, or race pipe or whatever we call it. I suggest. Easy to install, low cost and performance benefits, easy to swap back in and no need for tuning!
