Hmm, just a question for you brake gurus. I put my rotors/pads on about a couple weeks ago, they work great, i've never been happier. But, one thing i've noticed is that the brake seems to take a little more force to get it to grip, and the pedal can be pressed to the floor pretty much. Does this sound like i need to add some fluid? Or something else?

Thanks in advance.

that does not sound right at all!

u should not be able to press the pedal all the way.
i press little less than half way to lock the wheels.

check the fluid, sounds like it's low.

You need to check your levels ASAP. We don't need anymore MSP accidents on this forum.

yep, yep. If you're not familiar with brakes, take it somewhere. Brakes are nothing to be unsure about!!

I think mine are already mest up!!!!! I let a friend drive my car and he stomp on the breaks to avoid son dirt on the road and now my brakes are make so weird noise and the rear rotors have like 3/4" band around it at the inside of the rotor! help!!!!

Are your wheels torqued correctly? Calipers tightened down? Installed correctly? There is no was slamming on the brakes could screw somthing up.

BTW, for the guy who lost his brakes. I am losing brake fluid also. I was very careful with the calipers and gave every effort to not damage the lines, but the stock lines must be s*** because I have a leak. I have the Corksport SS lines on order. Make sure you bleed your brakes properly if you find that's the problem with yours and have to replace a line.

Thx you have a point, do you now what the correct torque is?

Rear driver's side.
No biggie, gave me an excuse to upgrade to SS lines. Everyone who did this can see how bad the rubber lines are anyway. Mine looked like they were ready to go when I was taking the calipers off. I got the SS lines today, but I won't have time till this weekend to bleed the brakes and switch them out.

I think it's between 75-90 ft lbs. Main thing is to make sure they are all the same, tighten in a star pattern, tighten at between 5 and 10 ft lb increments.

these brakes with SS lines should feel AWESOME!
there will only be like 1 1/2 inch travel in the pedal. :)

let us kno how they feel after u're done.

Well, I checked fluid, its at MAX. So maybe i'm just maybe i'm nuts and there's nothing wrong.

Just to clarify, the pedal CAN go to the floor, i don't put it to the floor when stopping. I just thought there would be a point where it would be too hard to push it any further before it touched the floor.

Oh well, what do yall think?

Sounds to me like you've gotten air in the line somehow. If that's the case, then you won't necessarily see alot of fluid loss. Perhaps one of your fittings on the calipers came loose, and air got in. In any case, I'd bleed the brakes, and check all the fittings.

yep, sounds like an air pocket.

air compresses......fluid doesnt.
