Rotary Powered Jetski

Hi all, I'm new to the forum.

Many of you may already know by my screen name, that I'm "that guy" who created the Mazda Powered jetski. (www.rexxracing.com)

The current status of the project is a working prototype of over 2 years old with only 13 hours logged (Yeah, the north prevents significant jetski time). Now that I've relocated the venture down in FL, the project is located for easier development. We have about 5 other customers who will be building the first pre-production kits this year. Production for more kits has started.

My question is, has anyone seen an article regarding this project? Someone from a Mazda forum has requested info and told me an article was going to be done on the project for one of the Mazda magazines. However, I have not seen this yet nor seen a copy of the magazine.

Anyone, anyone?

I have'nt seen it and i get all the mazda mags, maybe it is not out yet- chris

good lord!! That thing will be a screamer...you should throw the 13B-REW motor in that thing....it propels the RX-7 0-60 in 4.9s....a jet ski should hit 60 in about 2s.!

Yeah, in stock N/A 13B configuration, it moves pretty good with a 70k mile motor.

Several more setups will be put together during this summer. One will be a 300+hp Peripheral port, a Paxton blown 13B and a few streetport 13Bs. The plan is to have six more built with in the next few months. After those have been rung out, production will start.

Please be sure to spread the word. I figured a few of you rotary enthusiasts would like such a setup. These motors are remarkable for continuous power applications.

Hi,

I'm new to the forum and I have quick question. I was driving on Lake shore drive tonight and I smelt a strange smell coming in the car. I was driving the car pretty hard and held down the clutch a pretty long time though. I haven't driven stick in about 15 years and need to know what that smell could've been. Does anyone know? It smelt kind of like ribber but it was hard to tell.

You may have been smelling clutch if you "rode it" too long when letting it out. That's all I can think of since the car isn't here.

Did the smell ever come back or was it a one time thing?

BTW, where is Lake Shore drive? Where do you live?

And WELCOME!! (drinks)

Great minds think alike

I have been thinking of doing the same thing for a long time now, I was searching to see if I had an original idea or not. I guess there is someone out there that thinks like me. I would like to know how far you have reached with your prototype. Please let me know how it is coming along. I may still deside to do one myself. Can only imagine the 1/4 mile time/speed of one of these crafts. I've seen these engines turn up 14,000 rpm. that should move some water through a jet pump.
Fabtech.
