Roof rail options for my CX5

I have recently bought a CX5 SE-L Lux and want to fit roof rails to it. The standard UK dealer option is a pair of cross roof rails, but I noticed a more suitable piece of kit on the Mazda forum. In the US and Canada it seems you can get a pair of aluminium rails which fit front to back. Then you get bars which fit between them. I like this much better, but was told they can't fit UK spec CX5s by a Marda dealer.

Can anyone shed light onto this as the cars look the same (mine even has a factory fit tilt & slide sunroof which seems to be offered in other regions). I can get the rail kit via amazon or ebay but don't want to buy it and find it won't fit as the mounting points are completely different,

Is the fitment a complete non starter or is it I might need metric bolts rather than UNF / UNC threads to get it fitted,

Thanks in advance,

Nathan

Not an expert by any means, but my research has found that many owners think the Mazda cross-bars are flimsy. I will likely be getting the Mazda side rails only, and finding crossbars and attachments by Thule or Yakima on eBay or CraigsList. They are much more adjustable and supposedly made better.
