Rode in the back tonight!!!!

2009 Mazda5 GT
I got to ride in the very back row with six total adults in the car and all I can say is that this is the coolest damn car ever. We got rowdy at a couple of pubs and then watched the fireworks. Afterwards, we rode around the city with the windows down and the moonroof open with the tunes blaring. Then we headed into the countryside for some wildness including singing very loudly to the horses, etc. Everyone got out and said that the 5 was the most fun vehicle they've ever ridden in. Just goes to show it's not just for kids. Riding in the back was like riding in the pimpest limo ever, especially with the speakers rocking out right next to me. My girl, who drives it daily, said the ride was very smooth and that the steering wheel nibble was gone with all of the weight. I asked if it felt slow and she said she could feel the weight but that it didn't feel that slow. Rock 'n' roll!!!! (guitar)

LONG LIVE THE 5!!!!!!

There is no way I could fold my legs enough to fit in the last row....but the second row is suprisingly roomy.

oh yeah. i like sitting behind the passenger seat (with no one in front) laying back and reclining while my wife drives :D

I'm 6'2", 220 lb. The front passenger moved up a bit, the second row moved up just a bit, and the two in the third row were comfortable, granted one of my legs was in the aisle. I could still ride that way for hours so I say it works.

I've only sat in the second row to get changed for a running race. Just from that, I can tell that I'd like to ride back there for a trip. Friends who've ridden back there were very impressed.

Wow...the third row....Thats Crazy...I've never sat in the second row and I would think the third row for anyone above 5'5" would be cruel and unusual punishment...I'd hate to get a leg cramp back there...you'd kick the s*** out of the second row occupant"s head. I guess I'll have to try it to see how its like

the main thing I noticed from sitting in the 3rd row is I had to put the headrest ALL the way up. otherwise, no problem. lots better than some 2nd row SUVs I've been in; a friend has a nissan xterra, and that 2nd row is real cramped, w/ a narrow door opening.

I based my purchase of my 5 based on my ability to fit into the 2nd and 3rd rows. I'm 6'1" and 275 lbs. and while it was a tight fit in the 3rd row, and something I never intend to actually have to do again, it WAS possible. The 2nd row is quite easily the most comfortable in its price range.

We use the 5 as a 4 passenger vehicle with the 3rd rows used as "emergency" seats, but people who have ridden back there have all remarked at how much space they have.

Yeah, the headrest is designed to go way up for adults, and it's not flimsy either. Again, it works. For the size of the vehicle, the economy, the utility, etc., the actual relative comfort of six adults is amazing.

Disclaimer: I did have everyone move to where they were moved up as far as they could be without becoming uncomfortable for an extended ride.

Move all of the seats back and the third row is about impossible for an adult to ride in. Position them strategically though, and it all works. For those who think strategically placing the seats is a PITA, I will suggest considering how many times do you really have to do it versus the joy of being able to do it at all. Overall, Mazda balanced the package out very, very well. It's a vehicle that can address more needs than any other IMO.

exactly why we purchsed the car. not because we HAD to carry 6 adults ALL the time, but because we could if we wanted to. for the size and fun factor, nothing really compares to the 5.
