RM Racing - Top 3 Wish List

Hey guys - the guys at RM Racing want me to get some opinions on what we want for our Proteges. They're starting a new rally line of products for us. Can you list the top 3 items you would like to see developed for our cars?
Thanks!!

Rear strut tower bar (really just for the P5s)
Full coil-over suspension
Functional hood scoop ram air induction

Something like this but I'd like to see a CF hood that included the spray nozzles or at least the hoses/holes for them.

  • Reasonably priced coilover kit
  • Stainless Steel Headers
  • Stainless Steel Exhaust System

One more thing....this hood is dope. Not really feeling the price though

Yeah. It's the price that really kills that hood. Would people want a functional hood scoop hood made of an alternative cheaper material?

I think the reason the price of that hood is so much is because it comes with the AEM Intake, and some sort of gadget that will sort of circulate air through a funnel and keep water out. The people who developed this system are the one who worked on Roger Foos P5, but I think if you can get them to take out all those extras the hood should be cheaper.

Hmmm ... but those extras sound pretty important, RODSCALIP4. Oh well. I was wondering about the whole rain/intake engineering.

WHO MAKES THAT HOOD??? THATS BAD ASS!!!!

1. Header 4-2-1 ceramic and stainless with bungs added... (no mods needed, other than the CEL eliminator)

2. Larger Sway Bars... 27mm front 24-25 mm rear

3. Strut mounts (rear upper and lower and front lower) and or Subframe mounts....

I think a 4-2-1 header would yeild the most gains if properly designed. Something along the lines of APEXi or Comptech design would be perfect. The tough thing is that if someone was to make a header that actually gains power they can't bite off of the APEXi or Comptech because the cars the those headers are designed for have different characteristics from the Protege as for a where the motor produces its most power. The Hondas don't have torque where as the Protege does. So things could possibly get tricky if a company thinks to hard. Luckly, most of us just want to eliminate the first cat and make the engine bay look cleaner via SUS.

Hearing what I just heard about the Ram Air hood, it seem more like a possibility in the future. But, I'd definately need to see the underhood design to see what difference there is in how they engineered the AEM and the ram air vent. I'm not knocking the design at all, but if I'm gonna pay that much, I want to know exactly what I'm getting. I would have bought an AEM intake if they made the pipes in different colors.

Anyway, if RM Racing is to make a good name for themselves in the Protege market, they should definately give us MP3, Protege 5, and Protege ES ownes what we're looking for....a SUS and or Ceramic Coated header. It would also be wise to try to keep the price under the $380-$420 mark as that is what people should expect to pay for a Quality SUS header that actually produces a good horsepower. I think those kind of goals are reasonable expecially if they have a matching exhaust system to go with the header. I think that with an Header and Exhaust system, we should ask for 5-10whp. These are just a few of my thoughts. Sorry for draggin them on....

Header with integral high flow cat(lets all be nice to the environment)
Rear strut tower bar
Camber correction kit for Stock Springs

Is that 4 pistons PER caliper? 2 on both sides of rotor? 4 on one side of rotor? I'm new to brakes, so please explain.

Total, but just so you know i only know about brakes what I can convinsingly pretend. I just want brakes calipers before I have mine professionaly painted.

hhhhmmmmm a header would be nice, Cam gears, how about a bored out throttle body???

As far as the design of the Aem intake,I got to see what they were talking about, but I think it would be better if you guys saw it in person, theres a funnel box wheres the airfilter goes and I guess it helps with circulating air and keeping water out. I wish I could explain it better, you guys can call dgmotorsports and find out though.

BTW dgmotorsports makes the hood.
