it really depends on your definition of "Fit". you "WILL" have to do some fender work.

i guess 18x7.5 is what would actually fit without having to modify anything huh?

18x8 +50 will fit with 215/35-18 tires without a problem. (those are stock rx8 wheels with protege-sized tires)

the 18x8.5 "Might" fit, but not at that offset. the offset is going to make them hit the fender.

my suggestion would be to go with a decent 17-inch rim. the protege really wasnt made for 18's.

true i guess time to do some research of the best 17 combo to do to get a nice look and stance at the same time.

The centerbore for nissans is 66mm and the centerbore for mazda is 67mm. The wheels wont sit flush against your rotors without machining/boring out the centerbore. You can bypass that problem by using spacers, but youll probably need a 5-7mm spacer, making the effective offset of your 18x8.5 (+30) to a +22-25. Im going to guess its going require major fender work to get them to fit.

yeah found that out so didnt go with that. gonna wait to find some rx8 rims or get the msp 3 rims

Raising this thread from the dead....buuut...what if you used both front wheels at 18x8.0? I know it would be a bit of a pain to track down just fronts, but would it be possible then? I do like the look of the 35th an's myself...kinda beefed up Rx8 look and no one would have them on our p5..
