i am in the market for a good set of rims, i am thinking either 17's or 18's, i want then to be lightweight, good for autoX and dragging, AutoX being first on the list

i was reading somewhere that 18's r too big for proper handling beacuase all the weight was far from the center and making it harder to turn the wheel while accelerating...

any suggestions? i was looking at 18" SSR competitions, but after reading that particular thead i am not so sure anymore...

Gotta go 16's if your gonna do Auto X. 17 and 18 would be too big. And the SSR Comps are a good wheel. Hey, look at it this way, now have an excuse to buytwo sets of wheels. 1 set for the track and 1 for show :D

i am not looking for show, just performance, thats y i suggested SSR in the first place, they r mucho $$$, but i do want larger than 16 rims, what im really looking for is an all-purpose rim that has tendencies for autoX since thats how i drive usually, my life is an autoX course ;)

look into 17" rotas with 215 series tires. thats your best bet in that price range.

Centerline has some 17's that weigh like 11.5lbs IIRC. Not sure how much they are though. :D

If you're going to spend 500-550 each, then go for Volk. Another good wheel for the money are the 5 Zigen FN01R-C's.

is 550 alot for a rim? or not that much? from the tone, it seems like itz "medium" payment

and yes i am a bit clueless about this, i've been to tirerack, but they sell some heavy rims...

I didn't even spend 500/wheel for 19's on my Bimmer. For $500/wheel, you can get a very good quality wheel.

If you want a light weight wheel that looks dope on our cars look at the Volk Racing CP-035, it is rediculously strong and forged. I believe they make a non forged also so make sure you check. I cannot find accurate specs now but its good.

RH CP-035 Pic I am pretty sure you can find better prices than what they offer too. My bro or Rishie can beat it Im sure

coolness, u peeps r y i love this forum, help a guy out to the extreme :D

any other suggestions out there?

Rotas

if you are looking into some light wheels, do check out the Rotas. Best place I have found them is HERE 17's are $550 for the set shipped w/o tires and about 17lbs. Not bad if you ask me :)

the centerline 17"s that weigh 11 pds apeice cost around 375 each plus shipping. if anyone is serious i can get an exact price for you all and order someone a set if they really want light wheels

those rotas look tyte!! i might get those

*writes down rotas as a potential buy*

yeah, can u get those centerline specs? or give me a link and i can do em myself, not looking to buy right away, but i need a monetary goal for me to start saving otherwise the hole in my pocket gets way way big
