Rims and tire question for ya'all!!!

I have a 2000 Protege and i am looking for rims and tires and i do not know what is going to be TOO big for my car. I found out that the stock rims are 14" and the tires are 185/65. Is a rim that is 16" with a tire that is 205/40 too big and going to rub???

Depends on rim width and offset. For example, if you're 16s are 7" wide and offset is 43-48mm you'll be fine with 205/40s.

If you have a 4lug, Ive had 17" with 215/40 with a 38 offset no rub and lowered on coilovers. My current setup is 15" with 205/60 with an 35 offset and I had to get the fender inner lip cut and pulled on the back (on the shop as I type). But I love the hella flush look....
