Rims and drum brakes = f-ugly... right? I can't really imagine it...

K... I want rims for my 99LX!!! Hehe but the rear brakes are drums... (freak)
I can't really imagine a nice car with rims and drums... in my hed it kinda jut looks pretty ugly (dunno) ... anyone here got pics of a their Protege with nice rims and rear drums?

I'm really interested in converting to disc brakes if that's what it takes but everywhere I looked to do this give out very incomplete info,or points me to some FAQ I can't find. Can anyone hook me up with some more info on this or some kits? Or on what parts I'd need to install/swap onto my car? Also... I'd maybe paint my drums if that's what I absolutely have to do but that's still prety crappy looking IMO...

Maybe aluminum paint on the drums face, and flat black on the edge? Most cars have smaller rear rotors anyway, and this might create the illusion from a distance.

I don't bother with mine but I'm old enough not to care what others think, as long as the car performs.

In my opinion, if you paint the drums in any colour other than black it will look bad ...the drums are way too small and any colour brings way too much attention to them. I used to have silver drums and calipers and got comments all the time about how small the brakes looked. I since got a gloss black brush on caliper paint and did the drums and calipers. Looks WAY better ..you almost don't even notice them ..especially from a distance.

1. yes complete, everything you need from brake lines to ebrake cable to rotors and calipers. it has EVERYTHING you need!!

2. i would like to get around 400 plus shipping, but make an offer. 400 is an amazing deal, it is hard to get all these parts.

3. used, but very good condition.

4. im moving back to new orleans, dont have the space for it, dont want to pay to ship it, and now im thinking about another car (might be going domestic, sorry, but i drove a camaro with a ls1 in it last night and fell in love)
