Review: Amsoil Ea filter w/ pics

Well reason I ask, is because I considered getting the CP-E and getting the Amsoil filter, but the way the CP-E is setup, it doesn't look like an Amsoil will fit. Looks like it'd sit too close to the headlamp.

But when someone said sound, I figured i'd ask!

Yea if you want to go with the "largest" and best dry filter that Amsoil makes well then COBB is the way to go no doubt. Funny thing is it took me forever to talk Copperkid into getting a Amsoil, cuz he insisted that he wanted a AEM and look what happens he writes a review and now everyone is jumping on it.

I was sold on CP-E with all the cobb brackets breaking and the backorder. I was actually totally dead set on the AEM dryflow myself too!

Now, I'm rethinking it lol..

The AEM filter construction quality is REALLLLLLY cheap for what your paying for it. As for the COBB bracket breaking that is INCORRECT, its the battery tray that it connects to thats been breaking. I personally have not had ANY issues and MANY members are in the same boat with zero issues.

Personally I think it's members who are trying to launch the car into space and that's what's causing them to break, just like the DOG BONES, HOW in the heck can you break one of those??

Really? It's that bad huh?

So the car is breaking, not the bracket? I could have sworn it was the bracket. I really should re-look that thread I was reading on the other forums.

I ordered a amsoil filter replace my cobb which was in need of a cleaning. Got it the next day, fits great, looks good, job done.

Basically the AEM is just a piece of felt or atlease it feels like it, dipped in rubber and there's your top hat, and same type of procedure on the intake side, yes it's squeezable but who goes around squeezing their air filters??

And YUP it's the battery tray that's busting because of the SO called stress the bracket and maf assembly is exerting on it.

Got my cobb, I'm installing this weekend and will be posting my cpe nano for sale sometime next week! The nano is awsome but sound like my old aem v2 I had on my rsx s. I believe that the cobb will sound a little nicer, but not really holding my breath but who cares, I get a whole new unit. The nano still was amazing though!

Ordered my Amsol dry filter just now and can't wait to get it. I have 10,000 miles on my original Cobb filter. I'm going to post the cobb filter for sale on the forum and I wonder how much to ask for it. I was thinking maybe $15 shipped anywhere in the lower 48. What did you do with your used Cobb filter?

Just installed my Amsoil yesterday and the sound is the same with maybe a slight bit more sucking sound when you get on it. The filter is much higher quality than the cobb filter and adds some bling under the hood.

does this filter hit the hood when u close it or is the clearance perfect? if it is im SOOO sold on this filter

nope, has no problems with hood clearance...it's not that much wider than stock cobb...its just longer...about 1 inch....if you plan to go cold air box in the future, i have a feeling this won't clear at all...but i could be wrong...we will have to wait until it releases

wow, i like there sight. Does anyone know if the amsoil synthetic grease is good for the cobb sway bars. This grease wont break down rubber will it???

Has anyone tryed the PreFilter that goes over this filter. Its cool cause u really dont need to clean the filter ever. u take off the bag, shake it, and put it back on. so has anyone tryed it for street use?

Isnt the cobb filter the same material as the amsoil filter? what is the advantage to buying the amsoil over just using the cobb supplied filter? elaborate please.
