Just some comments from my latest track event.

The Carbotech Panther Plus brake pads were incredible. Not a single problem or close call with these pads. I was able to change to ATE Super Blue the night before I left and the brakes were working hard all weekend. This is by far the best mod I have made to the car. Fantastic.

My front driver's side Yokohama has seen better days. Beaver Run runs clockwise, and the right turns out number the lefts 8 to 4. It's probably good for another event, but it's now in the back to help even the wear.

The MP5 is just a bit too slow to be in with the 2 and 3 groups. I can put 2-3 car lengths on any car coming out of the first set of turns, but the straights are killing me. Another 20-30 ft.lbs. would hit the spot. Last year at the same track, some cars were passing my 2-3 times per session, this year was once if any.

Hey Scott,

Pics look Great. I agree with you on one thing, Beaver Run kills the front left tire. I did a two day event on a set of new Goodyear F1's and the front left was done. I then rotated it to the back and let Truc (tonkibui) do a one day event with my car, and the front left held up OK for 1 day. I then went out and got me some track tires (Toyo RA-1's). What a difference, that makes. I did a two day event with the new tires and took off another 3 seconds off my best time. PM me. I would like to know what group you ran with. I have only ran with the Porsche groups (ARPCA). My next track time is at Mid-Ohio on Oct. 23-24.

Here is a link to some of my pics from BeaverRun + a small video clip of my spin. HAHAHAHAHAHA

yeah, turn 10 bites balls for the front left tire.

scott, what were your tire pressures for the yokohamas? and are you running the avs es100 or the paradas? and finally, how did they hold up around 1-7?

I am running the AVS100.

I tried anywhere from 28-32 psi before each session but never remembered to check them when I was done.

I didn't have a problem getting around 10/11, it was having to let everything pass me coming up the front straight.

whoa, that's all? how much rolling over was happening on your front left tire?

yeah, it's thoroughly frustrating running with the porsche group. i can hold them off and even gain a few cars through 1-5, but that uphill towards 6 and into 7 is when they make it up, then on the back straight, they go zooming by. then on the front straight, whoever hasn't passed yet on the back straight does so. i guess it's expected when they have two to three times the torque.

what group do you run with, i'm planning on driving out there next august for a few days. i'd love to get some track time in.

The sidewall isn't 'too' bad, some wear but not as bad as you might think. I am running a 215/40R17. I was making sure they were consistent, but I should have pumped them up a bit for day 2 to do some testing.

I don't know why I never checked the pressures after a session. It should be automatic after always checking after an auto-x.

What did you run?
