what si the required offset for 18x7.5 rims on a msp with spool springs?

I believe it is 45mm to avoid rubbing but Phrisco is running what appear to be 42mm -since I cant find his wheels offered ina 45+ offset- and says he has no rubbing on his lowered MSP.

Any insight is appreciated.

that sticky isnt too accurate. I have had my 18's on my car with 2" plus of drop and never scraped. My rims are 18" with +45 offset.

a 1/4" spacer will correct your offset if you need 45+ abd the wheel only has 42. to put my 19"s on when they get here i have to use a 1/4" spacer to correct the offset and they should fit fine.

where do you get a spacer? and are they safe?

Phrisco has pics of the rims i want on his ride but he is running a 42 offset - the only offset they are avaiable in, and he is lowered and says there is NO rubbing at all even with 4 ppl in the car.

maybe ill run spacers just to be safe

I am running 18X7.5 with 215/35s' and a +48 offset. I would think the offset for P5s needs to be higher than MSP offsets, but I would think +45 would work. Not sure though. I am running spools also, but plan on taking out one top coil out of my rear springs. They just never settled to match the front.

i can sell you the spacers for about 5 bucks a peice and 5 dollars shipping for four. they r safe. they just increase the offset buy about 6-8 mm. not real sure but its something like that.

sorry guys! My tires are nangkangs 215,35,18. And thanks for the compliments. Ohh, the rims are REV model II

If you put a spacer on the rims it will make the offset lower!!! You need to take the rims to a rim shop and have them machine the right offset on them. The higher the offset the more they will tuck under the fender well. DO NOT USE SPACERS!!

Search the web for this.

Im using skunk2 right now, I have tokicos ready to mount and eibacks on the way. These skunks look good but they are a pain in the ass!!

depending on where they are rubbing you may want them to tuck more. If you have a wheel that is 42 mm of offset and you need 48 ir something around that then the spacer is the only way to go. Offset is measured from zero (being the flat part that sits artound your hub to the outside of the wheel), so the more you add to that the more positive your offset. If you machine it for offset then the offset will start to go down. If you have a 42 mm offset and need a 35 or something like that then you will have to have it machined.
