Replacing OEM Tires on AWD GT- Suggestions?

I need to get new tires in the next couple months. I have a 2008 AWD GT, and I'm not a big fan of the OEM tires... especially because I live in Minnesota, and the tread on the OEM tires do not perform as well as I'd like in snow. Is there a suggested/recommended set of replacement tires for the 20" GT wheels? Also, I tend to use the dealer for regular maintenance, but I'm not sure if I'll be limited with tire choices/pricing if I request that they replace them during my next scheduled service. Any suggestions on working with the dealer on this versus a "tire place" (i.e. Tires Plus etc.)?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Yokohama Parada Spec-X is highly recommended by many here including me.
Try tirerack.com or onlinetires.com
or have your local WheelWorks beat the price online.

Right on Ceric. Extremely satisfied with the Yoko's and you cannot beat the service and price at TireRack.

Ordered one day , shipped direct to my Mazda dealer, and installed, balanced the next day for like $18 a tire.

Over the years, the price of Spec-X keeps going up.
I got mine for $159. Now it is $185 at tirerack.com.

Has anyone tried the Yokohama Avid Envigor on the 2008 CX9 GT?
There a little more money than the Prada but the tread is higher. (560 AA compared to the Prada 420 AA)

I live in PA where we get snow. So, debating on which one to purchase.

Thanks,
Nick

If performance on snow is important to you, that is more reason to get Spec-X.
Click on the Survey tab on both tires' pages. You will see the difference!!!
