Replacing low beam bulb on '04 Mazda 3

I am trying to replace the low beam(passenger side) bulb on my 3. I got the old bulb out no problem, and I went out and got an H7 bulb, but I can't seem to get the new bulb to seat properly in the housing. The old bulb does have a large plastic base, and the new bulb only has the metal base, with no plastic extension. Both bulbs do say H7 though. I have tried, and tried, and I can't seem to get the bulb to sit without falling out. I even tried to get the old bulb back in, and I can't seem to get it to sit properly. I didn't pull the old bulb out roughly or anything, so I'm sure that nothing is broken, but I just can't seem to get it. Any help would be appreciated. I know that it shouldn't be this difficult. Thanks,
Matt

You have to take the black plastic piece off the old bulb abd put it on the new bulb just wiggle it back and forth gently and it will come off then just simply push it on to the new one and install to housing then your done..hope this helped
